    Confused by this box

That anti-flood device will not help when the plastic Y splitter that it is screwed onto, fractures. Keep a beady eye on it for leaks.

    Estimate for replacing a sink?

Labour would be around 120. Sinks and taps vary greatly in quality. You need to go and look at them to find one you like.

Logic combi 24 - always on for central heating?

Turn the programmer to off. The programmer only controls the radiators. Hot water is independent of the programmer.

    Screwing on bath cradle

I put silicone under the top flange of the bath tap and nothing except the rubber washer on the underside. I find that the washer slips out of place when it has silicone on it. Sometimes I bin the rubber washer altogether.

    Worcester 28cdi

The knob just pushes on. If the spindle has sheared, then it is a new charging link assembly which is a bit harder to fit. Try the knob first and report back if you need help.

    Worcester 28cdi

The knob is sold as a separate part...part number is 87161211090 and costs less than a fiver.

    No hot water

That all looks a bit of a dog's breakfast. If there is a poor flow of water from all the hot taps then I would suspect a broken gate valve on the cold feed to the cylinder

Old Dishwasher Stored for 1 year - will it work?

Biggest risk would have been from frost. If it froze, water jnsude the pump may have turned to ice and cracked the casing. My guess is that it will work perfectly. Damp in the motor windings may cause a leak to earth. If it trips the electrics then bring it inside and try to dry out the unit.

    Acrylic bath repair

But if the tradesman had supplied the bath then he would be replacing it out of his own pocket. No arguments. No unpleasant suspicion over who gouged the bath etc You worry too much, OP.... Tradesmen have b-all rights, customers always hold the aces and a damn sight more traders get ripped...

Looking for Glow-Worm Boiler Twin Flue Adaptor (moved from General)

I thought GW had a policy of keeping spares for 15 years after end of production? Was the Ultracom ever offered as a Saunier Duval? Twin flues are quite popular in the EU heartlands so a euro ebay search may turn something up if you search on Saunier Duval

    Halstead Ace High

Isolate power to the boiler. Fold down the control panel and see if the pin is coming out of the dv when the hot tap is opened. It is on the left of the dv with pink wires. Wait until you see the price of spares. Beyond outrageous. I would use any excuse I could to get rid of the thing.

Is it worth replacing my standard system boiler for a combi

OP has a mix of modern and old castiron radiators on the system so I would be looking to keep it open vent or put a plate exchanger on the heating circuit.

    Quote Review

Can't see how he is making any money at that price. As said, the case is very expensive. Don't blame the engineer...blame vaillant. The ecomax case insulation is known to self-destruct after 8 years so they charge a bundle for a new one. I would not recommend a Vaillant boiler to anyone.

    Acrylic bath repair

This is why tradesmen prefer to supply the goods they are fitting, and why they have to charge a premium for those goods. Try Plastic Surgeon - fine finishes It can be mended.

    10mm pipe buried in wall

Why not put 10mm plastic pipe into the wall with a plastic plaster guard over the top. Take a photograph and measurements before making good.

    Replacing Worcester Boiler Advice

You will get the bare minimum warranty offered by the scheme providing the boiler -usually two years. Worcester will have supplied the boilers at near cost price and without any warranty whatsoever. And given that the boiler will be kicked onto the wall from a moving van, you may need that...

    Flash heater shower not controllable

Instantaneous Electric Shower is what they are called around here. Not worth repairing this as it is at least ten years old. The shower head and hose will be dilapidated by now. You can try descaling the heater can - but you are pretty much urnating into a stiff breeze.
