Wood burner bin for garden ?

Ash will dissolve the zinc, leaving the steel ungalvanised so it rusts quicker. Zinc boils at about 900C, so a hot bin will lose its zinc that way too.

    Cutting holly tree trunk

It is hard to kill a holly, go for it. You may need to trim some of the branches on the remaining trunk to keep the centre of gravity above the base, but it will soon bounce back.

Wood burner bin for garden ?

The ash is alkaline, turns hydrangeas blue if sprinkled on the soil, and does a lot of damage to rasberry bushes when sprinkled around them. Also used to be used to turn the grease in pans into soap in times gone by. It will also dissolve the zinc too.

    Shed base

you need to have a stiff enough bearer beams in the base to support the whole length of the sides, extra piers reduce the strength required in the base. Also, I used composite beams as the lowest level so that the bearer beams get a frequent chance to dry out.

    Shed base

Dependant on your soil there are alternatives. I put my log cabin on about 15 piers, using a hand auger to make 6" diameter holes to about a metre down. Best tool to undo flexi under a sink?

As title, one of the flexis under the bathroom sink has sprung a leak along its length above the lower nut. there is almost no room to get in to undo it. the flexi has been there about 25 years, so expecting it to be difficult to undo. Any particular spanner I should buy to get at the nut up...

when mine were younger we always bought second hand stuff, usually sold on a few years later for a similar price. the rope for the swing was a consumable as they eventually rot/weaken in the sun and rain, but easy enough to replace.
