Removing oil spills from tarmac driveway

oil and tarmac need the same solvents to remove, I also suggest soap powder or clay cat litter (kept dry if possible, so dont try on a rainy day)

Garden Office Insulation & Damp Proofing

when you have intermittent celotex as a wall construction you need to consider vapour control barriers on both sides of the wall to prevent frost-line condensation at the structural timbers that go from inside to outside of the wall structure.

    Rechargeable Electric Mower

Do you have an existing battery power tool, if so buy the same make to share batteries. I am seriously considering changing to the ferrex 40V as I already have several 40V batteries for the 20/40V range tools. the only thing holding me back is that the existing mower is still functional. when it...

Help with re-fitting kitchen cupboard after leak

easier with a strip of ply across the top than trying to use resin filler on a pair of holes, quite easy to smooth down with one of the powder fillers top and bottom of the strip, then the screws can be put where the cupboard needs them, not where the wall studs are.

    Parking

Not seen that particular one before, we have many in our garden, much spikier than that, better at keeping people back.

How about mahonia, the spikyness keeps people off it, and the winter/january fragrance is welcome.

Levelling garden - what to do by the fence

There are lots of free options for 3D software: sketchup CarMetal FreeCAD OpenSCAD SweetHome3D BRL-CAD and some use Blender, but that does not have a setting for dimensions of anything. Some easier to drive than others.

Where can I find this paving? (or similar)

Well in order to get the right colour you will need to give them a very good clean with benzalkonium hydrochloride in order to see the true native colour of the stone, you have moss and lichen fooling you about the colour you need to buy.

    Shark Vacuum cleaner battery Q

Well why spend more on a pretend 4Ah if it is really a 2.5Ah that can be bought cheaper, the original is an unknown age so a new one will last longer anyway.

    Shark Vacuum cleaner battery Q

Recently got a shark cordless cleaner that seems to work ok. It takes the "XBAT200" battery, or "XBAT200EU", the first is on the label of the battery itself, the shark website does not recognise that number, but does recognise the latter one. Anyway looking around amazon and ebay, there are...

    Wet ufh in whole bunaglow

without insulation underneath it will be expensive to heat the older part of the house with UFH.

Radiators stopped getting hot - everything appears to be working.

well, if it is flowing via p1 and the radiators are staying cold, then it is pushing fluid into the 200 litre hot tank which is already warm, I suspect the zone valves are not fully switching on demand. You might need to make a fully exact copy of the plumbing for your own use and double check...

    Are these stairs acceptable?

eww, they are cobbled together from offcuts, will always creak for that instant tudor feel.

Self-fusing tape for leaking copper pipe

self amalgamating tape is soft for the first 10 years, it will never hold pressure. I does look to me as if it only flowed properly on the top, the bottom half has not flowed, it looks like a thin black line on there. It is not a good place to be waving a blowtorch, that I can see. To reflow you...

    Rubber tape

the thicker it is, the less the magnets can pull without falling off, sellotape might be enough to prevent scratches.

    Asbestos Roof Sheets

keep it damp to stop the fibres from flying about, not sodden, just damp is enough.
