    What size system boiler ?

+1 for a boiler which can have separate CH and HW flow temps, rather than compromising to satisfy both. Also switch to PDHW so that the cylinder heats up as rapidly as possible, aka Intergas X-Plan: https://www.intergasheating.co.uk/consumer/2019/11/05/tech-talk-3/ If you can add weather...

Megaflo - temperature at tap is only hot when other cold taps on

Are you able to isolate your HW supply? Try a hot tap after doing so and you'll probably find cold water coming through it. As already said above, this means you have a thermostatic mixer somewhere where the NRV is stuck open and allowing cold water to pass into the HW pipe. The only way to...

Builder Hitting an external gas pipe - causing a leak. Do I have to pay for the repair?

From past experience, Cadent will almost definitely be chasing you for the money, especially if the builder does not co-operate. You can pass them the builder's indemnity details, but ultimately they will hold you liable. You may want to consider holding money back until the matter is settled.

    Electric underfloor heating tripping

60 sqm! Wow. That is going to be very expensive to run.

    Electric underfloor heating tripping

Do you know what brand of ufh was installed? What is the area? Mats are normally 150-200W/sqm. You can then deduce what the max current drawn will be and if the mcb is suitably rated. Its also possible to check the resistance of the mat with the circuit and thermostat disconnected - this may...

    REVERSE CIRCULATION

As said already, apart from it being a bodge which should be enough reason to correct it properly for any professional, you may want to question whether a non-return valve is suitable to be used on a CH circuit long term.

    Defective Nest Heat Link?

Is this a nest 3rd gen? If HW is on (or legionella programme), the thermostat will show a water drop icon. You can also turn off the legionella setting. Are you testing the 240V is on terminal 6 with a multimeter with the terminal not connected to anything (to rule out anything external making...

    Replacing water supply pipe

Shouldn't matter. The larger bore pipework either at the start or the end will result in a smaller pressure loss due to pipe resistance.

VR65/VR66 for HW flow temp control

For the benefit of anyone else wanting to do this. I, too, am using 2 x nest 3rd gens to control heating and hot water. My setup was slightly more complicated in that I have a low loss header and a secondary circulation pump wired to the SL for all 3 zone valves (u/s, d/s, DHW). With the...

    Wiring BDR91 to Hive Combi

Nest 2 = Common Nest 3 = Call for heat Assuming you have the Hive single channel receiver, they go into the following (in the same order): Hive 1 = Common Hive 3 = Heating on Note - as this may NOT be 230V switching, remove the link from your hive L to Common, if there is one.

Nest Thermostat not firing up CH

If I'm reading your photo correctly, you have the heatlink live/neutral wired to boiler terminals 3 and 5? You should have a direct mains feed via a fused spur to the heatlink.

Unvented Cylinder Range Tribune HE long term headache!

Does your cylinder have an immersion heater? Is that switched on? If the expansion vessel has failed (or needs recharging), as the HW heats up it won't have anywhere to expand to and will activate the PRV.

    Megaflo combination valve height

I tend to stay away from these types of threads, because the end result is always the same - the GSE's have their view and the DIY-ers have their own. All of the professionals who have posted on here are genuinely very helpful - and the principle of what is being said is completely on point. You...

    Megaflo combination valve height

The T&P valve is much higher up on the cylinder, so that isn't sufficient. Without an isolation valve on the cylinder CW inlet, you'd have to use the drain off valve to empty the majority of the cylinder out and then be left with a small amount of water sitting in the pipe above the pressure...

    Misdiagnosis or Unreasonable Care?

On the face of it, seems pretty straightforward then. That's not to say that there may be some other explanation, but the starting point should be that it developed a fault which wasn't there before he touched it.

    Misdiagnosis or Unreasonable Care?

Was the boiler clicking before he started working on it?

VR65/VR66 for HW flow temp control

Very useful notorious. I think I may give it a go. Although I'm not certain how much saving the lower flow temps are likely to give in reality - and will this translate into lower bills. Be interesting to hear from you how your bills differ once you have used the new setup for a while.

VR65/VR66 for HW flow temp control

I see - so you've disconnected the grey/orange on your HW 2 port valve from any power, and rely on the VR65 using ebus to activate the boiler when the HW zone valve is open? Another question - As the VR65 is not used to control the zone valves, I assume there is no HW priority? I.e. if the HW...

VR65/VR66 for HW flow temp control

Nice. From your picture, you have grey and orange going to the CYL terminals on the VR65. Where are these taken from? And do they have any voltage on them?
