odd waste pipe size ikea sink

What you need is a universal waste coupling (not sure if its the right name). Just go into a Grahams plumbers merchants or similar and they will get you the right fitting if you explain the problem to them. Steve

Insurance companies - getting work done

I went to quote for an insurance job recently. Was called by insurance company a couple of weeks later to answer a few questions about my quote. At the same time I asked if they pay client or contractor and they said as their contract was with client, they would be paying them and I would...

    Skirting onto uneven flooring

The easiest option for a novice, although it defeats the object of having the skirting on top of the flooring is to run a bead of scotia around the length of the flooring/skirting. This will cover any gaps and will look fine in the right shade/colour. Steve

FOOKING IKEA sink instructions are wrong..

I'll second that! Just viewed the instructions - look fine to me. Recon you'll get away with 3mm myself, remember to seal the cut edges with silicone or similar, seen "plumbers" do a lot worse. Steve

    Boxing toilet pipework

Such an awkward job, I don't know a single chippie who can do this job and keep a civil tongue during the process, including myself. There are alternatives to timber if you are having trouble, for example you could use plasterboard, don't have to be too neat, and finish with ceramic tiles...
