    Joist screws

Thing is that Spax screws are a 10x1/5 or 10x2 inch or at least mine are. If you remove those screws the nails will be thinner (I would think). I don't know about CSA screws are but whatever they are they would need to be the same thickness and length as the Spax screws or they could be loose in...

    New towbar electrics issue

I fitted a towbar to a car with canbus and it was easy as long as the instructions were followed. Quite obviously the OP's tow bar has been fitted by a bunch of ****ing monkeys. Tow bar fitting isn't cheap take it back and tell them to do it properly.

    Government acts on housing shortage

Thatcher started the rot but every government since, including blair's new labour, who I think was as tory as the tories, has carried it on. Starmer is new labour so if he gets in nothing will change, it will probably get much worse.

When a problem manifests in the boundary line, and the neighbour is unreasonable..

Good grief take the advice and walk. Let the property fall down round that idiot's ears. Life just isn't worth that sort of hassle.

Young to pay higher taxes to fund women who retired early

So glad I took early retirement from from my civil service job, that I had grown to hate, at 55. Had to do a few menial jobs till I hit 60 when my army pension,my civil service pension and my state pension kicked in. Haven't looked back since and I'm 73 and still going strong. Wife's state...

I might put in a multi fuel stove.

And the chances of these type of fires being banned soon is pretty high at the moment because of the ficticious climate change scaremongering.

How can I board insulated loft?

If your boards are not secured I would advise you to screw them down even if you are just using them as a walkway. They could slip off the joists and go through the ceiling possibly resulting in injury to yourself and serios damage to the ceiling. I used loft legs to raise the height of my...

    Immediately Disappearing Voltage

Whilst it could be the wires or the connections to the charging plug it's much more likely to be the charging port on the laptop. The soldered connections to the motherboard can go intermittant and cause that sort of problem.

    TRV pin not springing back

When my danfoss TRV used to stick I tapped the pin gently with a hammer and sprayed WD40 on it it eventually freed itself. If the platform inside the head moves back and fore when the adjuster knob is turned then the head is okay. I changed mine for more modern looking ones that I bought online...

    To Paper or Not?

We lived in sixties bungalow before we moved a couple of years ago. The walls were terrible but lining them and then papering made them okay. More work obviously but lining paper hides a multitude of previous sins. I tend to use wallpaper that doesn't need to be matched mainly because I cannot...

    It’s coming home, it’s coming home, it’s coming…

I really do not know why these people who get off on bringing the UK down don't p**s off to the continent because they are complete waste of space in this country.

super glue fumes still in shed weeks after?

Highly unlikely. I have used super glue extensively over the last ten years or so as a hobby woodworker and apart from the mess that I gat on my hands I cannot say that I have been adversly affected by the fumes. I'm 73 now and will die of something else rather than super glue fumes I would think.

This year's new council tax rate

Do you actually live in this country? Surely if you did then you would know that most of the problems that councils are facing, apart from the want of all politicians to line their pockets, is that the scammers that call themselves a government withdrew funding from local councils and told them...
