Insulating stud wall between garage and house

Ah, ok makes sense. Thanks again. I've ordered 100mm for between and 50mm over the top. Hoping 1 layer of fireline will suffice on garage side.

    Bleedin' Paramount.....

Same here. I peeled back and removed one leaf of plasterboard and left the other side in tact. Then I removed all the cardboard and put proper studs in and reboarded the side I had removed. It meant the bedroom side was largely untouched. Took a bit of patience tho.

    Garage ceiling

I'm about to crack on with the garage ceiling that is below a new bedroom. The plans state 150mm celotex between joists and 50mm underdrawn. The plans don't detail the plasterboard. Would normal 12.5mm board suffice, or does it need to be fireline? And is 1 or 2 layers going to be required...

Insulating stud wall between garage and house

Whats an acceptable way to insulate a stud wall between garage and house? I was gonna build it with 3" x 2" timber.... so it's either 60 mm celotex or 100mm loft roll squeezed in. Any opinions?

Getting levels for deck - best tools & methods

Water level. Near mm perfect, cheap, easy to use, no calibration, easier to see in daylight, go round corners, can span whatever distance u need.

    Kitchen Extension

Be like a red rag to a bull asking that on here at the moment.... basically cos there's no way to 'guess' with any degree of accuracy. Probably not what u wanna hear, but you'll get sarcastic replies without more detail and spec. Plans and building control will take a couple of grand. Ground...

You're spot on mate.... Best way to deal with a bully is to take em on 'head on'........ and thats what I intend to do.

    boundary moved by neighbour?

Its more or less the same process for me so I may aswell get my garden back and I can access it whenever I want.

    boundary moved by neighbour?

One possible course of action would be to remove the fence and make her try to sue me for removing it..... she wouldn't win and the onus would be on her. The only issue is there are concrete posts set in the ground and a resin bound drive right up to the gravel boards on her side.... so it...

    boundary moved by neighbour?

I'm going about getting her to remove her fence. I have written to her explaining the situation and making a polite request for her to remove it. She hasn't responded yet and I've given her 28 days to let me know what she wants to do. I'm also in contact with a firm of solicitors who will...

    Insulating garage ceiling

I've had a bedroom built above garage and bco has stated 150mm celotex between joists and then 50mm across underside to stop cold bridging then plasterboard..... crazy.

    boundary moved by neighbour?

Yeah, I get that. But, in my case I have plans from when the house was built with exact measurements on them. Other houses on the street have the fences in the correct place. I have photos showing where the boundary should be when the house was sold to me. The woman next door seized the...

    boundary moved by neighbour?

Yeah I agree Keith..... its slightly ambiguous, but it is what it is. When they were built, there were no fences..... as ive said, she seized the opportunity to gain when she thought nobody would notice. Its sneaky which is one thing...... but the way she treats people is disgusting. One...

    boundary moved by neighbour?

How would they have that? I bought the house from original purchaser..... nobody else has owned it to allow such things. Its quite simple really..... my garden in now 18 inches narrower and hers is 18 inches wider..... no permission for this has been sought. Shes also had my wall knocked...
