Build internal leaf wall without wall starter set.

Now why doesn't that surprise me about this building game?

Build internal leaf wall without wall starter set.

For anyone with a similar issue this website has some nice illustrations of various ties. https://www.ancon.co.uk/products/wall-ties-restraint-fixings/other-restraint-fixings/ties-for-steelwork

party wall notice query please help!!!

Not a surveyor but I would say it depends on the depth of those concrete slabs. If they don't go in the ground much or sit on the ground then the answer would be no. This is what it looks like.

    third skin

The thing to remember is you are the one that has to live with it and pay the bill too. It is perfectly ok to go back to the architect and explain you are on a budget and need a cheaper solution, if that is what you prefer.

    Well in line of footing

It's a shame they can't bring it inside the building and have it as a feature with some glass over it. Seems sad to be filling something that took so much effort to dig out back in the day.

    Minimum width of access

Nige I take it you know you have to have a turning area so that cars can leave in forward gear down the passageway? ie you can't have the building right at the front of the plot.

    Foundation height issue

I see. Well sort of. Where has the fault arisn? Is it not having all the details on one plan or is it a lack of detail altogether?

    Minimum width of access

It is all to do with fire enging access. It seems that as long as they can get within 45m of the back of your building you are ok: As houses are usually classed as small buildings (that is, up to 2,000m2 floor area with a top storey less than 11m high), only access to within 45m of every point...

    Foundation height issue

Thanks - interesting. Not having any practical experience here, I would be worried too! It would seem you have a conflict. I am not clear how this situation has arisn since you have detailed drawings. Or can the telescopic air vents be incorporated into the foundation???

Plot of Land - No PP - Viable?

Obviously having a free build will help!!!

    Foundation height issue

On your plans there is a 21cm void under the joists but nothing showing how it is vented to the outside, you are like 50-60cm below ground level at this point. I see your foundation concerns but how does it work exactly, airbricks on the patio or something???

Plot of Land - No PP - Viable?

First off I think that for a first attempt you have made a great effort and you are perhaps closer than you might think! What you are looking at on a plot like this is something the same shape as the garage but with a basement and a mezzanine sleeping area above the first floor. You can forget...

    Planning Permission Non-determination PART2

I meant the neighbour with the obscure window. You could just fence within your boundary and it would be blocked anyway.

    Planning Permission Non-determination PART2

I don't see what rights they have next door because you can simply lawfully put a fence there anyway. Also you could do a 3m under PD. I haven't come across this situation before but it seems really strange.

Chimney breast removal - the proper way to do it?

The guys I saw used a hammer and chisel to loosen the bond and just pulled the bricks out. It wasn't noisy in itself but all the carting away and throwing into buckets or barrows does make a bit of noise. Might be best they go out that day! It is very much in your interests to issue your...

Moving Manhole for Side and Rear extension

Unfortunatley it will be the property of the water company if it is a shared sewer. If you google "drainage lift and shift" you should be able to get more info about if it is possible and the likely cost. Must admit it doesn't look too good on the face of it.

Planning and Building Control plans from different sources

It would be interesting if you could post up one or two excerpts from the Decision Report on the nearby application which was passed.
