    Treating surface rust

Not according to Hammerite web site .. only any loose rust, they do claim & lable the product as 'Direct to Rust'

    Treating surface rust

Too big, so just looking for the optimum way to treat. I had a set of trailer wheel sandblasted & galvanised .... which worked well, but too expensive for a £20 set of car ramps.. I have wire-brushed with power tools so loose rust off ... I have decided to get a bottle of Rust Converter...

    Treating surface rust

Even though it says to use 'direct to rust' you think using a primer first is better.?

    Treating surface rust

Hammerite it is ..... I have several part tins of Hammerite. I'll put Hammerite 'Smooth' as the first coat, then once cured Hammerite 'Hammer finish' on top. Used Hammerite many times - only failing in on external metal work with Hammered finish the 'dimples' don't protect so well .... and...

    Service joint

Excuse subject .. not sure of correct name. I have a thermal store, the heating output is via a pick up coil in store … The tank unions connect to a Thermostatic blending vale … the output of which is fine … via pump and as you would expect a pair of pump service valves. So should I want to...

    Terminating CT100

OK .. itis the original hollow space dielectric. I bought rolls of 'CT100' from Maplin. The key bit you have confirmed is remove the copper tape .. Looked at the web page you mentioned, and good to know that the foil & braid semi-airspaced is good performance. None of it is outside so no...

    Terminating CT100

I have CT 100 run out throughout the house to central wiring cupboard. (accept you might not use CT100 now) I have CT100 Crimp on connectors. Anybody familiar with this ... CT100 has a solid core, dielectric, coper tape shield and then copper braided screen. Do you remove the copper tape...

    Home voice patch panel

When I wired out the house I included RJ45 outlets in each room (multiples in some) wired back in CAT5 to a centralised patch panel. Been great as I can patch phone or Ethernet Data connection to any outlet. Just been converted to Fibre and with it comes Digital Voice … I have a ‘single green’...

    Raised bed

At 4" thick (typically) ... so both sides would reduce width of garden bed by 8" .... too much garden would be lost. Unless someone has a suggestion of some edging which is less than 4" thick, which can still hold soil in place.

    Raised bed

Doing the rebate would be OK, I could use a saw table ... it's just that assuming I did a 75mm rebate .. that is wasting a lot of wood. Alternate would be to 'affix' a 50 x 75 or similar piece to bottom of sleeper to maintain full sleeper depth on top of edgings - not sure how effective I could...

    Raised bed

There are 2 sections of the garden that are bounded by round-top concrete edging - these items: grass lawn on one side and flower bed on the other. aprox 50mm sticks up above ground. SWMBO now wants me to convert the flower beds to a 'raised bed' So be nice to find a way to increase...

    LabGear 6+1

The TV is a new Samsung QE55S95 In Settings/support/ there is a 'reception signal' button ... but it's greyed out so can't select it. I tried Samsung support they said if you can't select it, must be an aerial issue ( :) ) I have logged a 2LS support Tkt ... don't know if I will get...

    LabGear 6+1

Just asking question in several sources and then, making an informed decision. Bit like getting 3 quotes in for getting work done. It does look that I can get 10dB gain by changing from wide band aerial to the XB10A. I tried looking at Signal strengths on TV but it does not seem to have option...

The issue is the Humax box reports signal strength is less than 50% So questioning whether I need to upgrade the aerial.

    LabGear 6+1

Put OS grid an 8m height .... advises to use Vertically polarised extra high gain aerial. The aerial is mounted as per pic .... sorry its not too good a picture. Points straight out through tiles to Kilvey Hill, but village is in a bit of a dip hence low signal. This aerial was the one...

    LabGear 6+1

I don't see why it contradicts? If I connect Aerial direct to TV, SD programs are OK, but HD programs are a bit flaky. The house is in a poor reception area. Once aerial signal has been through the Labgear amplifier the HD channels have no interference. Yes fully agree an outdoor antenna is...

I currently have a Vision V10-321 installed in my loft 32 Element Wideband Vision V10-321 I am getting my signal from Kilvey Hill (Group A) House is at a marginal reception, SD channels OK, but HD has interference. As I needed distribution, I installed a Labgear LDA2061LR, and HD signals are...
