Mine beat that but the process in my case had it's crazy aspects. I was told to do certain thing such as open all windows, A no go until I said that I had. ;) My leak and meter was not in the house. Explained but no joy. The bloke I was talking to had to go though a process that assumed the leak...

Panorama - The Smart Meter mess

This is a rather long video on this subject. It explains why Labour were correct to push it and the consequences of using energy supply companies. The first 20min easily covers the problems. Tories of course just allowed it all to carry on.

Going on the report of a failed meter from Nwgs comms could be the cause. Initially the gas meter will probably need to pair with what ever does the transmitting back to base. The general comms will have sone sort of checks done on them. Some hiccup might trigger some sort of reset. I have been...

The gas meters may also have a facility to disconnect. In a simple world just like the electric ones they could just collect and transmit data. Instead they have sat down and thought what else could we do with them. LOL It's called progress. Most pay their bills so the extras probably do not see...

    Farmers on the march

Which rate suites you in terms of the tax you pay - your yearly figures or your whole life during which things might change? The gov's interest is how much they get each year. Could harm 70,000 farms. 70,000 / 500 = 140 years. Things in the UK haven't changed much since 1884 have they.

What was wrong with it? I'm genuinely curious. No other reason for asking. Never have one - the BBC link I posted mentions that when the life of the older ones is over, 10 to 20 years from new it will probably be replaced with a smart meter. The same link also mentions calibration can be...

    Heat pumps and noise

Doesn't really matter. The Swedish idea I mentioned just limits max power that is available. It can regulate just like an ordinary system can. Underfloor can be similar. I've been around in these houses with external temperaturs ranging from ~-10 to -25C or so. The industrial building as well...

When and how many? If some one said replacing the older mostly mechanical meters with electronics could be less reliable I wouldn't argue but the mechanical systems do need removing and checking now and again. What I would find hard to believe is that suppliers carry on fitting meters that have...

    Heat pumps and noise

Seems to match my impression - correctly designed rad system with a condenser system will reduce costs but needs bigger rad area. LOL Reminds me of another forum where this cropped up. A bloke thought do it properly expecting more business but few would pay the extra so chose another way of...

    Heat pumps and noise

Cost savings relate to cost of the fuel used - gas or electric. Green electric is now seen as the cheapest source, set to produce more, The add on bits such as insulation, heating setting etc are factors that allow further savings. They help which ever fuel is used.

No changes since then? Which collect problems they have been contacted about https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/smart-meters/article/smart-meters-explained/smart-meter-problems-and-solutions-a32nQ4f3LKV8 It also mentions 2nd gen meters.

    Heat pumps and noise

Some have for a different reason - condensing boilers. Running at lower rad temps can be advantageous. Heat pumps are the new kids in the block. New builds with heat pumps will be insulated as well as having them fitted. My interest and reason for mentioning the numbers is conventional builds =...

    Heat pumps and noise

The interesting aspect is this Most heat pumps are designed to heat water (to run your central heating system) to 45-50°C and domestic hot water is used at 38-42°C. Radiator systems have been designed to run at 80C but some may have been done for 60C. The lower the temperature the larger the...

There seems to have been a change down to offgen. The supplier must try and work out a repayment plan with the consumer when they fall behind on payment. I assume both gas and electricity. Info is around this and other offgen pages https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/prepayment-meters-consumer-guidance

I saw a smart meter being installed in an oil heated property. Job done by a young lady. It looked like they didn't install an isolator and she mentioned bits around the meter she couldn't touch. Here an isolator was installed in case an electrician needs to do work on the consumer unit...

No I am not. I 'm just relating experience. Also mentioning another reason Cadent would want to get out of it. There are now a lot more people installing them mostly via the major suppliers. Show me some direct evidence of smarts not working due to faults that don't relate to the coms not...

The gas meter here pre smart has been changed twice. They tell me that it relates to calibration. I asked the bloke that did it. Smart - I have had a letter asking to change one or both of these. No reason given - ;) so I will ask when they do it. They also did a flexible pipe refit. Why pass...

ICC issues arrest warrant for Netanyahu for crimes against humanity

One aspect of the warrants is video evidence of intent to use aid as a weapon of warfare. Some other statements by the pair are also highly likely to figure. Then the amount of aid actually let in.
