Why is your boiler on its last legs? If its 30yrs old there,s not a lot that can go wrong with it, Its going to consist of cast iron sections a gas valve thermostat and some basic wiring. We look after boilers in excess of 30yrs of age and perform well.

If all the other radiators are getting hot Its unlikely the pump is at fault. So would follow the two pipes back to flow and return and make sure they are connected as they should be. Or a blockage is present. Have you shut all other radiators off to force heat to the offending rads.

If you have just moved in to that property I would first look to see if they have been piped properly, As in you two flows or two returns rather than one of each, I that checks out ok then look for a blockage normally in a bend or T.

That sounds like insufficient gas pressure/pipe sizing incorrect, have an engineer check gas pressure at the boiler under full working pressure.

Nothing special about vallant boilers, any good engineer should be able to sort a good service or repair easily.

I would go for a blocked secondary heat exchanger.

You don,t have a problem with your RT500, Its simply someone nearby with their wireless thermostat is controlling your thermostat. All you need to do change the frequency on your thermostat and receiver, read your instructions and it will explain.
