Power to drill but doesn't work

The brushes are the carbon blocks than connect power to the rotor. They press against the commutator, which is the segmented copper ring at the left hand end of the rotor (the bit that spins!) They are pressed against the commutator by the springs that push them into the brush holder The...

    Electrician's Hourly Rates

Isn't this is just an example of market pricing? You charge as much as your market will bear without losing out to competitors too much. This is nothing new, surely.

SWA Cable from outside into FCU

I would (and have) run the entire inner flex though conduit into the FCU, not just the cores, plus a separate earth conductor for the armour.

    BT Landline switch off

Remove the faceplate from the NTE5 which isolates the internal wiring, the use male-male cable to connect the analogue phone port on the BT hub to the phone wiring. If the hub is not where the master socket is then use an extension socket or the DV Adapter to connect the analogue wiring.

Electric meter rEd display, does this mean all is OK?

There is some energy lost as heat in the electronics etc, so you will never get the numbers to balance. Are the losses you are seeing reasonable? I don't know, are there any efficiency figures for the design?

The thing I wonder about selfmon is: who responds if I am miles away or out of the country and my keyholders aren't available? Don't need the eng code to do what I did.

    ADT Galaxy G2 Bat-...Bat+ alerts?

+ve battery terminal was a bit loose. I tightened it a little and no alert around 14.00 today so hopefully that's fixed it. Tested the battery at 2A load and voltage looks OK, so should be fine as the mains PSU is only rated 1A.

    ADT Galaxy G2 Bat-...Bat+ alerts?

Thanks, Yes I know the battery isn't replaced annually, and I know it was done this time. Interestingly, this battery was supplied with the 4G comms module that was fitted a few weeks before the service. The engineer who fitted the comms module noted that the existing battery was due for...

    ADT Galaxy G2 Bat-...Bat+ alerts?

Hi, A few weeks ago, ADT serviced my alarm and changed the battery. Since then, but not every day, around 14.00hrs +-5 minutes, I have been getting a BAT- alert, followed a few minutes later by a BAT+ alert. There are no other log entries around this time. After viewing the log, the system sets...

    Memera 2000 40 amp b mcb

6kA NOT 6kW. 6kA is 6000 Amps - a measure of current, not power - and refers to the maximum current that the device can safely break under fault conditions, and depends amongst other things on the contact spacing and the speed of contact opening. If it attempts to break more than that then there...
