    Depending how hands on you are you could close both valves and take off radiator. Open each valve a little at a time and see if the system pressure forces any water through.

    Yes. with all the minimum stresses they allow for in the steel, an allowance for someone driving at speed over it giving static and dynamic forces I would well imagine loading it with 2 tonne wouldn't make it disappear down the manhole. Please do an on site test and report back.
