FCU not permitted for immersion heaters, really?

TBH I have some 2.5mm T&E (it's actually bigger) going to an immersion of 2011 vintage. I don't recall a fight with the cable clamp

Kitchen wiring for hob and oven

Probably a professional. It has the advantages of: 1) The wires are going to stay where they are when doing them up 2) allows you to get more wires into the junction. 3) Better electrical joint (particularly when used on a socket ring) as there is no actual joint on that bit of wire, just a tap...

Kitchen wiring for hob and oven

I'd go with a full powered hob. You have a 32A supply. in the unlikely event you have problems, some hobs have program options to limit their current anyway. or just don't use as many 'hot plates'

    LED FloodLights

Can't say I have noticed a different spread of light with them. They are certainly worth trying before throwing away a quality fixture, and replacing it with something that will only last a matter of months.

    Wi-Fi Extender sockets

Not included in the plan. I renewed in May. And I was specifically looking for it. Anyway, I've got the BG socket working again. On the same SSID. Getting 10Mbps in Kitchen which is adequate. (nothing without repeater) Think I need to put it back to another SSID, to prevent closer devices to...

    Wi-Fi Extender sockets

Existing router is an EE smart hub plus (few months old) There is just one dead spot , so wanted to put the booster in the middle. I think it use to do the trick in terms of WiFi range when first installed. However I was never convinced the phones switched between the WiFi networks in a...

    Wi-Fi Extender sockets

Turning the mcb off and on has got some life back. Need to use iPhone to setup, not Win11. Once setup, I get a fast flashing blue light (which I think means its not connected to router)

    Question on sub-distribution boards

Arh. Sounds all good then regarding my worries. They aren't valid. Bit surprised there is no 30mA RCD in the garage protecting the garage sockets. Do you plug anything interesting into the garage sockets? Lawn mower, extension leads etc....

    Wi-Fi Extender sockets

I purchased one of these years ago. BG? It seemed to be slow, (N300) so I disabled it over 2 years ago. Just tried to re-enable it by pressing the button 3 times and it appears dead. I just wondered if there were any recommendations for other USB extender sockets, or should I just replace it...

    Question on sub-distribution boards

Is there currently an RCD protecting the garage supply in the house? As that will trip if you have a fault in the shed. It could get annoying. having to reset a house RCD, goto the garage and reset RCD, and then back to the shed. Only to find out it trips again. That could get really annoying...
