Ok ,he’s an idiot then! :giggle:

Service engineer let the air out of expansion vessel?

Maybe he tested the ev and the air pressure was to high so he released some of it.

    Thermostat behaving abnormally

@ericmark The graphs I posted are from Home Assistant, the wiser app is a bit basic in comparison. You can see how the Wiser hub is setup by going into the Wiser Heat app, selecting devices and then selecting the hub. I removed the Wiser TRV’s to simplify my heating system as I have a pretty...

    Thermostat behaving abnormally

The Wiser algorithm is a bit of a mystery to me so I have attached a screenshot from yesterday between 06:00 and 11:00. There are 3 graphs, the first is the boiler firing as requested by the Wiser hub, as you can see there are 3 cycles per hour. The second graph shows target and current...

    Thermostat behaving abnormally

On my Wiser system I now only have a single room thermostat having now removed all the Wiser TRV’s and replaced them with manual TRV’s. I also monitor the Wiser hub with Home Assistant so I can see in detail exactly what happens when a thermostat calls for heat and how the Wiser hub reacts. The...

    Thermostat behaving abnormally

These new TPI thermostats don’t seem like being turned up by less than 1-2c. I have found with my Wiser thermostat that if I want to increase temps by less than 1c the Wiser hub doesn’t react and fire the boiler by up to 15 minutes or so. Presumably the hub needs thinking time!

TRV and wall thermostat in the same room, how can it work any other way?

You are getting manual TRV’s and so called “smart” TRV’s mixed up. A manual TRV will not shutdown the boiler and is a temperature limiter, a so called smart TRV if connected to a device that connects to a boiler does have the capability to shutdown the boiler. This is why you never have a manual...

    Tyre crazing time to replace?

The rear tyres on my summer car are dated 2009! They still look ok to me.

TRV and wall thermostat in the same room, how can it work any other way?

The room thermostat controls the heat in the room and stops it overheating. If a manual TRV, or any TRV not controlled by the room thermostat, is also in the room then it may turn off the radiator before the thermostat gets to temperature, in which case the thermostat never switches the boiler...

    Radiator valve end cap removal

I need to remove the end cap of this radiator valve but for the life of me I can’t get it to budge, should the end cap unscrew or prise off? Thanks

Does This Copper Pipework Look OK? Concerned About Messy Joints

It’s messy but not uncommon unfortunately.

Drayton Wiser TRV head out of range, what are the options?

What you are experiencing is exactly what I was saying in your other post. It’s a waste of energy to heat one room/radiator hence why I grouped together enough radiators TRV’s so that when the boiler fired it was worth it. I now believe it is better to allow a master thermostat to fire the...

Battle of the thermostat: The science behind your central heating arguments.

The improvement would be having all the TRV's managed from a single app rather than multiple apps and access methods but, as I said, this comes at a £ cost which isn't going to be small. I don't like multiple thermostats having the ability to start the heat source potentially just for one room...

Battle of the thermostat: The science behind your central heating arguments.

Replacing all your existing TRV’s with Wiser TRV’s will be an improvement on what you have now but at a cost. I’m not a fan of micro zoning and have replaced most of my Wiser TRV’s with manual TRV’s to act as temperature limiters. I think you have two distinct areas heated from a single heat...

Drayton Wiser TRV head out of range, what are the options?

Fortunately I use Home Assistant to manage the heating so not much use for the app. HA really shows the app for what it is, I.e not great.

Drayton Wiser TRV head No Signal now what?

They do their job well, you just need to find a suitable spot.

Drayton Wiser TRV head out of range, what are the options?

It is ridiculous how expensive the Wiser smart plugs are (even though they arent just smart plugs) but its a closed zigbee sysem so we have no choice. Have you had the recent Wiser Home app v7 update yet? Its very different to the previous versions, I'm undecided about the new home screen.

Drayton Wiser TRV head No Signal now what?

The Wiser TRV’s and room thermostats do not act as zigbee relays, you need a mains powered device to act as a relay (Wiser smart plug or electrical heat switch for example). The Wiser zigbee network can not be combined with another zigbee network.
