    SPD difference between earthing systems

Thanks. I was looking at Cudis, who say to use up to 63A max. I'll have a proper look at the data sheet to be sure.

    SPD difference between earthing systems

Thanks. Do you know if there is a difference between SPDs for TNS and TNCS on single phase? Also is there any preference on MCB size below the maximum for SPDs which are not already fused?

    SPD difference between earthing systems

Short and simple question. Can anyone explain the difference between SPD's for different earthing systems please.

    PIR's that actually work

My go to standalone PIR is Steinel. Failing that I'll use Ansell as they're in most wholesalers. TLC sell them, but not Screwfix though. Not sure about Toolstation.

How to reduce chipboard floor creaking?

Well spotted, I can't edit the links, but it's the green bottle.

How to reduce chipboard floor creaking?

Lovely. I'm thinking a couple of bottles of this Evo-Stick wood glue which is D4, assuming 2 litres of glue isn't overkill for the joins and where the boards sit on the joists. www.screwfix.com/p/evo-stik-wood-adhesive-interior-1ltr/37901 Screw wise, a 200 pack of 5x50mm as I seem to remember...

How to reduce chipboard floor creaking?

Cheers. I'll see what there is for the caulk gun as I'm not a fan of No Nails as it sets hard and sometimes can be brittle.

How to reduce chipboard floor creaking?

Sounds like a plan. Is there any particular type of glue that I should be using or is it just general wood glue?

How to reduce chipboard floor creaking?

Cheers. A builder did that in the bathroom when we had a new suite fitted. I wasn't sure if it was because he was laying tiles. When I get the carpet up I'll know for sure exactly where the creaking is. I know that they are nailed down, so do you think it's just a case of pulling the whole...

How to reduce chipboard floor creaking?

Later this week I will be stripping my daughters bedroom ready for decorating and hopefully doing something to reduce the creaking floor in our 2001 house with the green chipboard floor boards. The question is how? I can't be sure if it's the joins between the boards or the floor against the...

    No Neutral light switches?

Thanks guys. I came across the diagram whilst searching for a smart FCU and it made me want to check how these no neutral switches work.

Wiring an LED mirror in bathroom

As above. Is it possible to pull an earth to the mirror? The lack of one won't stop the shaver socket from working though. So if the light works, but the socket doesn't then it looks like it's faulty.

    No Neutral light switches?

I'm not fitting one, but am curious as to how they work where the Neutral is not at the switch. Essentially you add a capacitor between the SL & N at the light, so am I right in assuming that the capacitor allows the switch to see the Neutral through the Switched Live when the light is off...

Bathroom downlights, max 80mm deep, not too bright.

Where is your light switch? If it's outside the bathroom (or can be) you could use a dimmer switch. Size wise, the diameter is pretty common, but the one(s) above the bath/shower need to be ip rated which may affect the depth, so it's a case of shopping around and confirming dimensions or...

do you have turn turn power off to change battery on smoke alarm?

What make are they as I can't say that I have ever had to turn the power off to replace the battery in a mains powered smoke detector. Furthermore, every one that I have installed has a cover for the terminals.

Dimmer switch works to turn on/off but no dimming

Tidy job there, looks much better. I bet it was fun getting all those earths in to one screw terminal. At least you don't have to contend with the flex now though.
