    Connecting up new waste system.....

Thanks for the info. In this case I will see how it performs when everything is in use, I will have full access underneath so I can always swap it out later. Good call on starting the 110mm run with a 90, could have saved myself a boss and gone straight into a 90 for the dishwasher waste in...

    Connecting up new waste system.....

Thanks for the info, I will swap it out for a rest bend, I'm sure I can make use of the current 90 elbow I'm using elsewhere. It was in the back of my mind whether I should have popped to the local shed for one but I guess my lazy side called the shots. I did try to find longer bends for the...

    Connecting up new waste system.....

You are right I have just placed two bricks underneath for now, I do plan on supporting it better, that said it is a regular 90 as that's what I had on hand, should I really be using a rest bend I wasn't sure how necessary they are?

    Full DIY House Renovation...

Using this layout was actually my idea and I made the chases long before the electrician turned up, my reasoning was that I couldn't run them directly below because of my other boxes being there. The floor to ceiling chases are ones I've run in for the speakers/ethernet/coaxial runs.

    Connecting up new waste system.....

I'm back again, If I brought a piece of pipe out of the back gulley inlet and connect my appliances to this via bosses, what would be the purpose of even having the gulley? could I not just connect some 110mm directly into the chamber outside and boss into the pipe when it runs into the house...

The chase is a good 30mm deep, board is 12.5mm and there will be around 12.5mm dab, I think 25mm for dab and board is on par from my research atleast :)

I wasn't actually aware of this, but due to them being set back into chases and now that the plasterboard has been added the wires will be in excess of 50mm behind the finished wall which from what I have read makes it meet regs.

    Connecting up new waste system.....

Thankyou very much for all your help, it is very much appreciated, for closure when I am done I'll add some pictures :) Edit* I mentioned earlier about swapping over the wastes so the sink runs with the dishwasher and washing machine with the basin, would this cause any issue?

    Connecting up new waste system.....

I wonder if this would work if I used a T at the Toilet to extend it further back to accept the other wastes, It would mean I wouldn't need to add a gully on the outside.

    Connecting up new waste system.....

Interesting, I would have to extend the waste from the toilet in order to connect all the pipes into, how have you gotten around venting? Thankyou, would It create a problem if I were to swap so the Sink joins with the Dishwasher, and the Basin with the Washing Machine? it would just make the...

    Connecting up new waste system.....

The problem is not only do the joists run parallel with the main waste i'm aiming for but I also have 75mm celotex inbetween the joists aswell so there is no longer a gap. Apologies for not stating this. Distance is about 4metres for both, we did consider and island but due to it needing to be...

    Connecting up new waste system.....

Hi Everyone, Currently trying to get my head around connecting up all the new downstairs wastepipes and what would be the best method. I've laid out a rough plan and was hoping someone could help me join the dots. All wastes will run under the suspended floor (I have about 3ft of space...

    Engineered wood floor finish decision...

Ah yes but I get the feeling with it retaining some of its rustic grain, scratches will be far less obvious, in my head atleast.

    Engineered wood floor finish decision...

Thanks for the feedback Crazydaze I have since found that you can get a ''Brushed and Lacquered'' variant which appears to be middle of the road, it retains some of its grain but also has the harder wearing lacquer finish. This is looking the most promising at the moment I think. I fear for...

    Solid floor replacement

Hi Adam, 1, Entirely depends on what is there already. Let's say you took it back to bare earth. I would go for 150mm hardcore compressed with a Wacker plate, followed by 25mm sand again compressed with a Wacker plate. Now lay a 1200gauge Damp Proof Membrane lapped up the sides to finish...

    Engineered wood floor finish decision...

Hi everyone, Got a huge decision to make on what type on engineered wood floor finish to fit throughout the whole ground floor (Kitchen/Hall/Toilet/Lounge) for my renovation. Just after any advices, preference or experiences over Lacquered and UV Brushed Oil finishes. I'm aware of their pros...
