    Weight loss

My Mrs was on slimming world. I went along with it as I was also a couple of stone overweight. Not for everyone but was something that could be measured to keep you on track. Also combined with moving a bit more. Walking and Youtube aerobics. Some really tasty recipes that didn't feel like we...

    Plastic welding with glue gun

Do some plastic repair at work on computer kit. Soldering iron and car body repair mesh. Smaller repairs, multicore wire. Much better than staples/solid wire as it bonds into the plastic. Don't find that just melting works very on computer plastics. ABS I think

Skirting under tile on dot and dab and plaster - what fixings to use

I meant if the wall is not flat and the skirting needs pulling (or pushing) in until the adhesive sets :)

When will we have a DIY Dentistry section on the site?

A reaction of some sorts happened with the car filler and tooth causing pain. My dentist has recently invested in an on-site crown/onlay scanner and milling machine Fascinating to watch my tooth onlay being made. Less fascinating paying for it.

Skirting under tile on dot and dab and plaster - what fixings to use

DIYer I have used foam for skirting after seeing it suggested on here. Worked well. Gun grade foam with a gun from Ebay. More control than the cans with tubes. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284657735382 https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-expanding-sticky-foam-gun-grade-750ml/6576h...

When will we have a DIY Dentistry section on the site?

My dentist told me about a guy who came in for an emergency appointment after using car body filler as a filling. Expands as it sets. Should have used Easifill(ing)

    Qq? on renewing skirting

DIY and didn't get covered or make much of a mess. Similar situation to the OP. Probably a bit worse. Used this with a gun for my last bit of skirting. A bit odd compared to grab but stuck the skirting well. https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-expanding-sticky-foam-gun-grade-750ml/6576h

    Aqua panelling

I fitted some hollow panels in our en-suite corner shower. From Celplas. I think I had the tidy the ends up. Masking tape (black panel) and a standard hand saw. End caps for the sides Used the same type of seal Foxhole linked on the top of the tray. Silicon joint from top to ceiling to tidy...

    Lining bathroom options?

I used Delta board in the shower area. Very similar to Marmox, Wedi, Elements, STS (Wickes), etc). A little flexible so likely to need extra noggins. No real need to use anything but skimmed standard plasterboard outside the wet shower/bath areas. No harm in belt and braces though. Probably not...

    New ram not seen

    1.5V won't work in a 1.35V system. 1.35V should work in a 1.5V system Need DDR3L rather than DDR3

    Stubborn screw removal

You bite into the head (point of the cutters towards the screw, handles towards you) and rotate Like pliers/mole grips but less likely to just slip on the head

    Stubborn screw removal

Chunky side cutters if you can get hold of the head. Looks like they are slightly proud of the latch, etc. As if you are trying to cut the head into 2 semi-circles. https://www.screwfix.com/p/magnusson-side-cutters-6-160mm-/9330v Have removed lots of stubborn screws this way.

Weep on external soil pipe coupler

Have struggled to find roofers that can 'roof' reliably. Really nice guy and his son. Obviously not a plumber/drainage guy. Or a gutter man. Slates he replaced haven't fallen off. Probably stuck on with silicone :)

    Anyone got a Yamaha FS1E?

Should have kept your <Insert 80's car here> Cav SRi for me Colleague bought a FS1E cheap to do up in lockdown. Did a fair bit to it. Sold on uncompleted. College mate had one (late 80s). I had a Yamaha DT with a 60 kit and noisy exhaust. We were about matched for speed.

Weep on external soil pipe coupler

Couldn't get the existing coupling to move. See pics! Wickes don't sell pipe it seems. Not on website and I didn't go searching in store. Chopped a length of pipe from a 1M female socket Coupler with the stops knocked out. Doesn't slip very easily. Tried silicon spray and fairy. Multi-tooled...
