15mm is fine for a sink, only a bath needs 22mm.

Is it for a sink in the garage? Taking the hot feed from the bathroom above will be fine.

Lots of money for a new boiler when all that maybe wrong with your existing one might be a noisy pump. Have you had it looked at?

You'll be fine, don't buy a boiler with its own controls, just use your existing setup with the new boiler. Why are you changing the boiler? I've got a 17year old vaillant, an ecomax 618/2e and it's still going strong, later ones aren't as well built or as reliable. Age isn't a reason to replace.

If power was off all the microswitches should be off. You should then be able to detect if it switches when manually operated.

The microswitch is operated by an internal arm operated by the syncron motor. It's internal to the switch. You can pop off the cover and observe it Due care as it's mains voltage in there.

There's an internal microswitch that fires up the boiler, that needs checking. Do you have a multimeter?
