    Torey conference outcomes

I've said before, and no doubt someone would be able to collate the stats, it would be very interesting to see a table showing the last 50 years, party in power, manifesto promises made, and then the most interesting part of the table, to what extent each promise was delivered from 0% to 100%...

    Torey conference outcomes

The Greens essentially want to abolish private landlord ownership, so they'll never get my vote.

    Torey conference outcomes

I've said it before myself, including on here, and James Cleverly said it on a news prog the other day. Here's what he said (not exact quote but gives you the idea): Our political system is basically a party gaining power, making certain promises, staying in power for x years getting some...

    Torey conference outcomes

It's generally accepted they have little to no +/- influence on voting intentions and patterns. The party faithful (or not so faithful) sitting their clapping at someone spouting promise after promise, the high majority of which will only be partially delivered if at all.

OMG my massive European tour starts in less than two weeks time

Have you spoken to the likes of BBC or Sky? I imagine they would be VERY interested in making a series out of your trip as it would get millions of viewers.

    0W20 vs 0W30 oil

tbh you've kind of missed the point of the thread, which in essence is if the exact type/spec isn't available, is it ok to use alternatives that might be suggested e.g. on oil checker websites etc. I don't think anyone's advocating taking the advice of 'randoms on the net'.

    0W20 vs 0W30 oil

The Halfords oil checker suggests this based on my reg: TotalEnergies Quartz INEO Xtra Long Life 0W/20 1L. Fully synthetic, ACEA C6 C5. Castrol Edge Titanium Volvo 0W/30 1L. Fully synthetic, ACEA A1/B1, A5/B5. So based on these I might be better opting for the Castrol as it matches the ACEA...

OMG my massive European tour starts in less than two weeks time

Your trip cannot come soon enough for places like France, where a stabilising factor is required asap to mitigate growing socioeconomic tensions and lack of trust in their political machine. You will be that calming and stabilising factor.

    0W20 vs 0W30 oil

I'm sure life used to be more straightforward when buying oil! Now when perusing the various makes, some say 'suitable for Alfa Romeo, Fiat', or 'Volvo' or 'Audi, VW' etc etc. In a way I think that could be confusing for the consumer. State the type (e.g. synthetic), the viscosity (e.g...

    0W20 vs 0W30 oil

Bought myself a 2015 Honda Civic 1.8 petrol. I always like to keep a litre of oil in the car to top up. Manual states to use: 0W20, meeting standard ACEA A3/B3, A5/B5 However it also states if 0W20 not available, 0W30 can be used. To confuse matters, when Googling, some are saying 0W20 is...

    It’s not fair, is it?

The homeless situation for most is extremely complex. I've said on here before, I saw a tv prog on it a few years back where three or four homeless people were housed. Within x weeks all but one were back on the streets. For one of them, the reason they gave was being moved too far from their...

Would you work for Gary Neville?

lol, middle aged white men not liking getting it up them, after decades nae centuries of being quite happy to see other nationalities being targeted ... usually by the middle aged white male establishment ;) Not nice is it?

    Flag dynamics

Apparently there has been an increase in racist incidents, with various nationalities targeted including Pakistani, Indian and Chinese. What's ironic is some of those hurtling the verbal abuse will no doubt pop into their local corner shop for a pint of milk and loaf of bread on the way home...

    Bluff and bluster fails.

Yeah I recall seeing an interview with a guy who ran an established PPE supplies business, not tiny, not huge, but more than capable of providing a reasonable amount of the stuff. Applied and enquired a few times, knocked back each time. On a separate subject, if the ID card thing comes to...

I can imagine him getting in his car after a pub photo op and saying to his driver 'yuck, who drinks that muck?' referring to beer. Of course, politics is all about image and some seem to fall for that one.

    Right to protest...

This bit from your quote: Police forces will be granted powers to put conditions on repeat protests, the government has announced, a day after nearly 500 protesters were arrested. Senior officers will be able to consider the "cumulative impact" of previous protests, the Home Office said, which...

    Net Zero Rollback

The thing is, when this is mentioned to pro net zero politicians and tree huggers, they dismiss it, saying the UK can be a trailblazer in this area, showing other countries how it should be done. It's irrelevant to them what the actual benefits are, they are hell bent on us adopting all these...
