    to be honest its worth just changing that pump any way. we fitted them for a few years as part of a cost drive. they were f'ing dreadfull. we usually fitted it and then removed a couple of weeks later and put i a proper pump(grunfdoss).

    get bg to carry out sonic clean under your contract. then ask them to quote for a magnabooster to protect your system. remember that when you are renting that if the boiler breaks down your tenants may be able to not pay rent for the peroid that the boiler is faulty.

    i couldnt comment on the fault without seeing it in action, but i can say that those charges are well out of order. of the 2 boards on that the most expensive is £150 and no more than an hours work to change it.

    op... why not try british gas. we do take on older guys as far as i know. the pay is less than the papers advertise , but its a nice place to gain some experience. then its up to you.

    hi agile :lol: keep getting distracted by other forums :lol: . methinks theres quite a few boilers without pump overruns these days. potterton crap comes to mind. weve been fitting a lot of overrun timers due to this issue.
