5G routers with sim card - why so expensive?

If you are using DHCP on the BT router to allocate your device addresses, rather than static configuration, the BT router will have a record of the IP addresses that it has allocated to your devices using DHCP. When you remove the BT router, if the physical links to your devices stay up then the...

5G routers with sim card - why so expensive?

Have you thought about how you will handle the IP addressing issues that will result when you change the routers over?

    Looped supply

I can clearly see two cables - the vertical one that is probably the feed in from the street and the other that looks like SWA exiting from the bottom of the cutout, which could well be a loop out to your neighbour. Can you get to look at your neighbour's cutout and meter?

Can anyone offer information about this cover?

I didn't have any trouble getting mine to go back in after I'd thoroughly cleaned the edges of both the manhole and the cover. If you ever have the paving re-sanded, tape over the gap between the manhole and the cover first or you'll have one hell of a job to get the thing out again!

Can anyone offer information about this cover?

Exactly like mine and yes pretty heavy and you will need to clean round the joint before you can get it out. I use an old fashioned bone handled tabll knife.

replace ordinary light switch with one with 7-day timer?

However, the TLC description of the ZV210 says LED lamps up to 400W - so I didn't look any deeper. :(

replace ordinary light switch with one with 7-day timer?

    Single FCU to Double FCU

Yes, if the original one is a spur you can just feed the new one from the downstream/output side. In fact even it it's not a spur. I would not think you are likely to need the controller powered when there is no power to the opener.

    Hidden Electrics

No. Anything with screw terminals is not maintenance free. Look here: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/ASJ804.html

URGENT: Anything else to try before calling out an electrician?

Ah, yes, that is not just a switch it is also an RCD, so we can deduce that this is a TT supply and that you have an earth rod somewhere (photo of the earthing/bonding for completeness pls). Proceed exactly as ETAF suggested and let us know the result.

URGENT: Anything else to try before calling out an electrician?

As above - however- "and trips the main switch connected to the meter." The main switch shown in your consumer unit does not have a trip function - which "main switch" are you referring to? Picture? PS: That MK B20 MCB on the far left is not approved for use with the Wylex CU. Hopefully all...

    VOIP phone recommendation?

The phone socket on a BT hub is for a normal analog phone and connects to BTs VoIP service. Additional analogue phones can be connected using adapters available from BT which plug into a power socket near the phone and communicate with the router over Wi-Fi and also take normal analog phones or...
