    Notice of intended prosecution

There wasn't any high speed chasing, I was literally just following the guy, then I pulled into the slightly faster lane and tried to get the guys attention before the speed of the traffic on his side slowed further. I then hung back to see if he would continue and he went past me, where I...

    Notice of intended prosecution

Hi all, I received a NIP I'm the post today, it regarded an incident that took place in the NIP is dated as having been sent in December 29 days after the alleged incident. I believe the incident in question was to do with a minor collision with another vehicle on the slip road where 2 lanes...

Looks like something on the pump housing, but it's hard to tell when looking at your pics and the diagram shown in the manufacture manual

1960s Bungalow - air vents in walls above concrete floor letting in draft

Usually, but the kitchen is probably the main point where damp and condensation will be created other than the bathroom.

Smart controls for my central heating system

All I know is that Drayton provide good tech support and are continuously bringing updates and new products to the range. It also looks much nicer, and you do tend to pay for what you get. Salus I can't speak for other than they havnt had a great reputation previously, I had an old salus boiler...

1960s Bungalow - air vents in walls above concrete floor letting in draft

Have you definitely got cavity walls? If they are then fine block them up, but if not, you'll need to leave them, you can get vent covers where you can adjust how much air you want to flow through, even closing them off completely.

is 1Litre big enough for Octavia?

Listen out for chain rattle on cold start up. I think the Merc you looking at has the om651 engine which although generally good reliability wise it does suffer timing chain issues, mostly the reliability issues seem to be on stop/start cars and those that have missed service dates. The timing...

Oi, you, get back to work!

Their not though are they, if the oldies are coming out of retirement. unemployment figures for 16-24 year olds are higher than any other age range and has been increasing, in a time when there are much spoke about skills shortages, it should really be dropping, so it does point to a degree of...

is 1Litre big enough for Octavia?

I didn't find much wrong with the harshness of the engine, this one seems quite smooth, maybe because it's just been rebuilt. I agree with your other points, on his car the dash is telling you to change up to 4th when doing 30. Having looked seems like the cactus has a Kerb weight of 1 tonne...

Who's going to watch the King's speech ?

Having Googled apparently the late queen wrote her own speeches with help from Philip, Though there is no mention about whether Charles did his own today.

    Cruise Control Issues

It wouldn't though would it, because even if it did the fail safe is that as soon as the brake is touched the cruise switches off, regardless as to whether you were using the speed up button. Also if you use the accelerator to over ride the cruise control after a period of time (In my car it's...

Oi, you, get back to work!

Youth of today don't want to work, quite happy living off their parents , all want to be YouTube stars and all want to be paid minimum 50k a year because they feel they deserve a superstar lifestyle like the idiots they follow on social media. Of course they don't want to work for the money...

Who's going to watch the King's speech ?

I saw the speech, personally thought it was good, nothing extraordinary but much better than I was expecting, and not to dissimilar to what I imagine old Queenie would have said. I did wonder whether Charles writes his own speeches or a speech writer does it for him

is 1Litre big enough for Octavia?

There is a saying no replacement for displacement. There is still a requirement for engine capacity. Off boost these small capacity engines are laboured by the weight of these larger cars. These engines only create enough torque on boost. Generally speaking these small engines "can" create...

    Cruise Control Issues

Cruise control doesn't stop the brakes from working, even if the accelerator was stuck 2/3rds open the hand brake and hydraulic brakes would have slowed the car. There was no attempt by the driver to brake or lift off the accelerator prior to the airbags going off. Amazingly 1.5 seconds before...

100,000 mile diesel Focus won't crank (sometimes).

Starter motor intermittent fault, is most likely at fault here. Though my brother had a focus that would randomly cut out when on long journeys. Turned out the keyless entry was playing up so they replaced the modules and recorded and all was ok
