    Drayton Wiser operating questions

Indeed. I see "Heat Source Type" which allows selection of "Gas Boiler", "Oil Boiler", "Electric Boiler" or "Heat Pump". Under that is "Control Type" with the 3 choices above. Note the "Control Type" appears blank but you can occasionally tap it to select an option, it's rather temperamental...

    Drayton Wiser operating questions

Unless I'm missing something. The "Control Type" field is where you select "Relay", "OpenTherm" or "On/Off load compensation". Those are the 3 choices I see

    Drayton Wiser operating questions

    1. I can see a "Control Type" field and can change it via the app. That said the value is not shown as you enter the device details page. However it's only really applicable when opentherm is in use and the Schneider implementation seems to be a work in progress. 2. agreed cannot comment on...

Stuck on Wiser 2 channel wiring

I would agree the names are not very precise. The 4th character of the model number tells you hub variety, hence WT734R1S0904 is the 3 channel model. The Kit 1 & 2 come with one room stat whilst the Kit 3 comes with two room stats. Depending on what you purchased it may also come with smart...

Stuck on Wiser 2 channel wiring

Whilst it should not make any difference did you test the Wiser Hub on it's own backplate? Just in case there were some small tolerance differences between the Danfoss & Drayton backplates. Can you confirm your Wiser model number to verify you do indeed have the two channel model. You can...

Stuck on Wiser 2 channel wiring

If you have a multimeter you can check if 240V appears on the WC4B terminals... T8 when NOT calling for hot water (from backplate T1) T10 when calling for HW (from backplate T3) T9 when calling for central heating (from backplate T4) You can also listen out for a click when pressing the...

Stuck on Wiser 2 channel wiring

Have you made any wiring changes at the WC4B ? Can you confirm your system is Y-Plan, there should be a 3-port valve near the pump. For example a Drayton MA1 As CBW indicated you could have probably just placed the Wiser hub on the old backplate without any changes at all. Can you post a...

Danfoss 40704 TP4000/5000/5000S/5001+RF Heating Control Stopped Working.

You are replacing a battery powered control (Danfoss) for another battery powered control. The concerns you saw were probably related to mains powered controllers. There is nothing to be lost by checking the boiler wiring as well. Not sure why screwfix would say 0-50C, even 5-35C is more than...

Danfoss 40704 TP4000/5000/5000S/5001+RF Heating Control Stopped Working.

It does not matter which way around they are connected. The T4 is just acting as a switch. When you do connect the wires the boiler power should be off for your safety.

Danfoss 40704 TP4000/5000/5000S/5001+RF Heating Control Stopped Working.

Even when you turn up the TRV on the radiator it still takes a while for the hot water to fill the radiator. OK, you can feel the warm water coming into the radiator but the radiator getting hot straight away is unrealistic. As to why modern thermostat, cuts out a little below the setpoint...

Danfoss 40704 TP4000/5000/5000S/5001+RF Heating Control Stopped Working.

"I prefer everything to be able to get very hot and instantly!" , not in this universe. It takes a while (15-60 minutes) for the water circulating in the radiators to warm the room. How long do you allow your kettle to run for a cup of tea? I recommend you view some of the excellent central...

    Drayton Wiser - Wiring Help

Are you able to see if a voltage is present on the yellow heating block when the Wiser calls for heat? In the case of a Combi there is only one switching connection from the Wiser on #3. The other Wiser connections provide power (L & N) plus the link between L & 1 in your case. Whilst I'm no...

    Drayton Wiser - Wiring Help

Perhaps we need to wind back a little. After the boiler was fitted was it working ok with the Worcester thermostat? If so as part of your swap over to the Wiser what steps did you take in decommissioning the old stat? Did you take any pictures prior to your changes? It's a bit difficult...

What should I replace my mid position actuator valve with?

Taking your first example. Whilst the HW comes on at 7am and "off" at 9am, it may actually go off prior to that if the HW tank gets up to temp. It may well cut out before 8am. Hence it's not the nominal time on the programmer indicates but when it actually stops. But any intermittent fault is...

What should I replace my mid position actuator valve with?

Have you tried the various permuations to see if there is a pattern to when the boiler does not stop? For example (1) HW only - run an on / off cycle. Valve should move to W if not already there and remain at W once HW goes off (2) CH only - likewise, Valve should move to H and remain there...

What should I replace my mid position actuator valve with?

I assume that the roomstat is up to temperature, the boiler & pump should stop. If the boiler remains running that's not correct. As for the second part, that is difficult in reality. Due to the Y-PLAN design, in the HW satisfied or HW off position a voltage is maintained on the mid-port valve...

What should I replace my mid position actuator valve with?

Do you mean "stuck in the H position" or remains in H position?. If the last request was for central heating it should stay in the "H" position even after the boiler goes off, if the next request was hot water it would then move across to "W". It should also return to "W" if the power is turned...

Drayton Wiser and boiler cycling at low demand

The Wiser Hub has no knowledge of the boiler pump overrun or anticycle settings. I'll caveat that with it may be different when the opentherm module is being used.
