Brake Bleed Ford Ka MK1 - which method Gravity/Pump?

I assume something like this is just as good too. Pressurise the system and bleed as normal. There is another page in the manual which shows this method too.

Brake Bleed Ford Ka MK1 - which method Gravity/Pump?

Preparing to do a brake bleed on the car. Seems simple enough. This is the official workshop guide: This is exactly what I expected. However, I came across a few guides online that say you have to be careful with the pumping the break method and that a gravity bleed is better: " Doing this...

    Kia Picanto parasitic battery draw

Would a fault code get flagged if the alternator was supplying too high of a voltage?

    Kia Picanto parasitic battery draw

Would a modern car give fault codes with an alternator issue? Or would you expect some kind of code. By modern I mean, last 10 years.

Car EPDM rubber foam repair - which glue?

Not a silly question. I have considered putting it back in part torn. Is it a part that is integral to the car? No. So it in that regard....it's not a major issue. But, I'd rather try to keep it all in one piece as it is a moulded rubber foam part. Also, it's just useful to know what can...

Car EPDM rubber foam repair - which glue?

not sure that would that would not really work as it is a non uniform tear. It would be like trying to sticky tape a chunk of foam. This looks interesting: Might just be an advertisement. But that's similar rubber, mine is just a big wodge of it. Edit: Hmm, looks like it might just be a...

Car EPDM rubber foam repair - which glue?

I don't think it sticks well. The standard stuff anyway. I have some Gorilla contact adhesive, but from memory, I don't think it ends up making a good bond.

Car EPDM rubber foam repair - which glue?

I have a tear in some epdm rubber foam car insulation. It fact one bit has torn off. They are bits that wedge into parts around the bonnet. I know this material is very difficult to glue as it is a foam type rubber, and very porous. Very difficult to find a good answer online. Most of the...

Storage Heaters - LOT20/HHR or Standard panel- smoke and mirrors? Choices.

Hmm, you are correct, all the modern storage heaters seem to need a day supply. The elnur ones seem to suggest they can be bypassed to work on a single supply, but vague as to whether this would work on a switching supply. So, it seems to get a modern storage heater of any sort a dual supply...

Storage Heaters - LOT20/HHR or Standard panel- smoke and mirrors? Choices.

ahh, I was under the impression all the lot20 types have dual function and fan assist (hence needing a daytime supply) by default. Which is what helped them achieve the standard. Although looking again at the manual for that one....it says "Not suitable for use on single supply"

Storage Heaters - LOT20/HHR or Standard panel- smoke and mirrors? Choices.

Yes. Not modern, with moderate insulation. Current occupants are likely to be home all day. I'm leaning HHR/LOT20 storage heaters now. I think it's the best I can go for....however there may be a spanner in the works for actually installing those. As far as I can see, they need two fused...

Storage Heaters - LOT20/HHR or Standard panel- smoke and mirrors? Choices.

Rental, so it will be variable as to occupancy. Anything like a heat-pump is not really an option I don't think, expense wise and property suitability. So it's more getting the best out of all electric heater options.

Storage Heaters - LOT20/HHR or Standard panel- smoke and mirrors? Choices.

Need to replace some water damaged storage heaters. They are a write off. But, I just wanted to go through the options. 1) Replace with standard storage heaters. - Pros) Cheapest option on initial outlay. Cons) Traditional concerns about use in property when people are only in during the...

Lamppost cable. What are they for?

OK, mystery solved. It is indeed an Eruv. I found a comprehensive planning application which covered the whole suburb. In total the there are about 60 roughly demarcating the boundary of the entire suburb, which is a pretty large area. Fascinating.

Lamppost cable. What are they for?

Looking much closer I think I can exclude them being data lines. The cable is just tied off, like a flag pole/ Interesting concept. I think I came across those when I first investigated, but discounted it as there are no Synagogues near and I can't imagine they would get randomly placed on...

Lamppost cable. What are they for?

I am just wondering what these are for. They've cropped up in the area over the last year, some streets have more than one. They seem to use standard lamppost poles but without the lantern on the top. Instead they have a very thin piece of something similar to fishing wire which spans the...

How often does a frost free freezer normally defrost?

This might help. It's the third part of the video that really helped me work out the issues with mine. He uses a data logger to monitor the defrost cycle too. So it might help as a reference for you.

    Samsung fridge/freezer issue -problem solving

That is what I always assumed, but it is actually not the case. I've worked it all out now, with thanks to a very helpful youtube video. The defrost element is integrated to the cooling evaporator. This freezer also has a secondary pad heater to keep the fan frost free. Basically the...

Thanks, I only mention that as I'm sure I knocked that connection while wrestling with the heater control valve and I heard a pssst of air escape for a moment and I thought I had damaged something.
