Boiler short cycling for no reason- temp doesn't get any higher then 50deg

Yes, do check the bypass. I found mine to be passing all the time regardless what it was set to, with the same symptoms to yours. Obviously the new radiator should be viewed with some suspicion too. Are you able to measure the flow and return temperatures to determine if it is allowing too much...

Extending Hot Water Feeds to New Extension

What's the flow like at the new tap compared to the old? Time the filling of a know-size bucket. As others are suggesting it sounds like a flow-detection issue but before you blame the boiler or tap/plumbing it'd be worth ensuring the new tap (and plumbing to it) is drawing adequately to rule it...

Do new central heating installations require a wireless thermostat?

You mention you've got a TR3, in which case might you be being misled by its TPI control and the flame symbol in particular? To elaborate further, the TPI control function of the TR3 emulates a proportional demand by varying the duty cycle of a call for heat. So, for example, from a cold start...

Going crazy can not reduce returns tempreature help help

You must've been doing something wrong. Black tape on the surface being measured *will* provide consistency and accuracy.

    TRVS/Working from Home/ Gas Boiler Greenstar I

I think you'd struggle claiming that was an essential expense, and would I expect be considered a 'building alteration' which are explicitly excluded?

Going crazy can not reduce returns tempreature help help

The default emissivity will almost certainly be 0.95 so all you need to do is apply black PVC tape to whatever is being measured to get consistent and accurate results.

Do new central heating installations require a wireless thermostat?

Whilst all useful features they're not really exclusive to wireless stats though. Wired ones can also offer them.

Do new central heating installations require a wireless thermostat?

There's also the benefit that they are far easier to optimise the positioning of the sensor as a poorly located thermostat may consequently lead to poor performance of the system as a whole.

    Moving a radiator

Remember where that heat comes from though... the radiator can only be as hot as the water on the inside of the pipes! ;-)

    Moving a radiator

If the pipe fits it'll be perfectly fine. You might even be able to reverse your current pipe outlet but if it's not been designed for flush mounting the pipes might foul the plastboard sides/back. If I was concerned about potential noise from any expansion-related rubbing (unlikely, but I...

Honeywell API output 'lagging'... since the clocks went back?

Ah okay, that's good to know. I was always a big fan of the CM927 I had for 10+ years and so replaced it with a T6 as I wanted geofencing and, I must confess, just fancied buying a new gadget! As it happens the geofencing turned out to be not particularly brilliant - the choice of geofencing and...

Honeywell API output 'lagging'... since the clocks went back?

I spoke too soon with the issue resolving itself following the US putting its clocks back - it only lasted a day! I decided to get in touch with Honeywell via Twitter (and felt like my Dad doing so - I didn't really know what I was doing but my email didn't get a reply so thought it worth a...

    Moving a radiator

Don't be - that's what forums are for! Are you extending in 15mm, or sticking to the 10mm as per the current pipes? 15mm would likely require cold-formed bends to help it bend without deformation in what looks like limited space, but 10mm is far more flexible.

    Moving a radiator

If it is a Manthorpe GRS-FF, which it looks like it is, then it is meant to fitted on the surface - here are the instructions.

Yes, that'll be fine. It has a couple of settings you can change to better suit an oil boiler eg cycles per hour (change to 3 from the default 6) and minimum burn time (change to 4 min from the default 1).

    Honeywell ST9400C 7-Day Electronic Programmer with 2-Channel

You could ways just replace it with another CM907? Whilst they might have been superseded now they are still available. If you were willing to give it a go you could also take it part and see if the button contacts need cleaning (although I'm not sure about the setting reversion that you...

    Honeywell ST9400C 7-Day Electronic Programmer with 2-Channel

Thanks for that additional info. Still need a bit more though to provide a recommendation! ;) With this being an 'upgrade', what aspects were you wanting to improve upon and, noting you've been pleased with the CM907, what aspects of its functionality were you pleased with? Whilst all...
