Expanding bolts into concrete gravel board?

The installer forgot to fit a centre stump, and I am assuming I will have to do the remedial work. Thanks - looks like toggle fixings are not appropriate then.

Expanding bolts into concrete gravel board?

I have access to only one side of a concrete gravel board. There is very limited access to the other side (i.e. barely finger reach). Can expanding bolts be used without cracking the concrete? Would a toggle fixing be an option for outdoors? If so, what fixing products might I consider for a...

Reinforce side panel for tall door (kitchen larder unit)?

Thanks! All cut by handsaw, too, even the side panel long cuts

Reinforce side panel for tall door (kitchen larder unit)?

@RandomGrinch - those button clips would be great with a re-purposed cutdown shelf mounted vertically in front of the mag filter. I sense an imminent Amazon order

Reinforce side panel for tall door (kitchen larder unit)?

Some good ideas there. Thank you! @foxhole Those keku clips look very interesting. Excellent suggestion! Are they any good in tension, i.e. perpendicular (rather than parallel) to the broad faces of each of the tabs), or is the that particular ABS plastic quite soft & yieldy? On the topic of...

Reinforce side panel for tall door (kitchen larder unit)?

I am modifying a standard larder unit to go around a boiler (see pic: work in progress). The top door is about 1.3metres tall and weighs 9kg (three hinges). The left side panel will be fixed to the rear wall along its back edge, while the right side panel will be fixed with through screws into...

    Cabinet Bracket cover removal

Any ideas 1) How these covers come off? There is a groove feature in the middle of the lower face, which might be relevant. 2) Where I can get some more of this style of cover? I want to add some more cabinets in the same style.

Identify this mixer tap (not IS apparently......?)

Of course! That model is only 45mm between the nozzle and the top of the sink, and ideally I'd need to find something similar.

Identify this mixer tap (not IS apparently......?)

This is marvellous! Spot on. Thank you! Searching that part number has opened up more options. Useful website to know about, too. Yep - an appropriately named online stockist replied to my enquiry with "I can’t indentify[sic] this make or model. It is not an Ideal Standard" and in response to...

Identify this mixer tap (not IS apparently......?)

Anyone know the part number for this tap? It has stylised red/blue 'IS' indices, but my supplier stated that Ideal Standard do not recognise it. I'd like to replace the cartridge if I can.

Dripping shower head, but why 'renew the thermostatic cartridge'..?

Page 9 - Cause / Rectification bullet 4 in the user guide I have states 'Renew the thermostatic cartridge', so I was wondering what fault mechanism that might be about. But yep - I was going to take the route you suggest.

Dripping shower head, but why 'renew the thermostatic cartridge'..?

If the head is dripping, surely it is the flow cartridge that needs attention (i.e. re-seating or replacement)? The User Guide explicitly mentions the (vastly more expensive) thermostatic cartridge, whereas the (cheaper but harder to obtain) flow cartridge does not get a mention. Hopefully...

    I hate to think...

I wasn't so lucky! About 40 years ago I did the school stage lighting (.....pupils back then were allowed to climb scaffolding and very tall ladders to hang lights and were also allowed - or it had become at least common practice - to maintain & modify the electrical control system, i.e...

How to edge a path that drops off on one side

These are rather fun.... https://www.woodblocx.co.uk/blog/retaining-walls-steps/ I am currently building a set of low retaining walls with internal buttresses. I used their free design service. Steps and other customised constructions should be do-able to suit your purposes.

Cold lay tarmac still soft after 4 months

My contractor laid several bags of cold lay tarmac many weeks ago, with similarly disappointing results whether it had been wet or dry, sunny or cool. My current pet theory is that this material isn't actually fit for purpose other than cosmetically, although I hoped to be proved wrong. To...

Matching Wickes 'Calgary' oak kitchen cabinet doors ??

Bit of a long shot.....we had a Wickes kitchen installed about 10 years ago. The shaker style by the 'Calgary' name is apparently no longer available. Assuming the (same?) manufacturers still supply the same or very similar style by other retail channels, can anyone - based on experience -...

Best way of blocking this gap

Since you mention brush, how about a length or two of gutter brush mounted vertically? You may need to fashion something to hold it in place, but some gardening wire and screws might do it...
