Material cost might not be much different, but for me it's the labour cost - timber I can do, masonary I'm rubbish at....

Good point.... So you built with timber off the top off the bricks? I could set my bricks/blocks to the edge of the slab, and we rounded the edge of slab off to help splash....

I was only thinking of chemical anchoring as a, way or securing the threaded bar.... Was thinking to fix them every 600mm Slab is 150 /200mm thick, reinforced with fibres. Externally I was thinking to wrap framing in usb, dropped down cover my course of concrete blocks, wrap in membrane...

I've a double garage sized concrete slab to build off. As I far prefer working with wood my plan is.. Build 1. Drill into slab at every 600mm and chem-fix long bolt around edge of slab. 2. Lay 100mm concrete blocks on their flat around edge of slap, working as round the protruding bolts...

This is more out or curiosity than anything else.... I've just put a fairly cheap glass shower door in... Flimsy but will do the job in an downstairs shower that's likely to see hardly any use.... I'm puzzled as to why the instructions state NOT to silicone around inside of frame... Any insights?

I've got a couple of access hatches in a stud wall where the oil pipe enters house, and condensate leaves it.... I had to set them this low to ensure future access..... But now I've chopped the skirting around them it looks rubbish.... Will be a bit better painted in, but still rubbish! Any...

My floor tiling is, er, rustique.... But base of toilet pan is not.... Options? Grip fill then silicone over to cover? Sand n cement then silicone? Any better ideas?
