Hi Kev,

By pumps, do you mean the green and pink things either side?
Brumylad, the answer is no to all your questions. I have one energey source and none of the other stuff mentioned.
Cheers,
Gareth
Nope, they're warm, but not hot. It was this that first made me realise I had a problem because the house was not warming up when I turned the heating on.
Am off home now, so will answer your Q from last night, about the tank being warm.
Cheers

In the bottom pic of those first three, theres a pipe that goes from right to left, bends 90 degress and then goes all the way down to the bottom. Dont know what this is (overflow I guess?), but its very loose. Its sitting in the socket, but its easily pulled if wigled...
Think i'd best do that tomorrow evening? I've had the immersion heater on for an hour or so for hot water so might give a misleading inpression?
Will check tomorrow evening and report back! Cheers again mate :)
You mean on the thermostat in my kitchen?
If I have just water then nothing seems to be happening with the pink one. If I turn on the heating and water then the pink thing seems to be doing something. Can feel it vibrating and getting warm
OK, think i know what you mean now.
The big green thing bottom left is hot and seems to be making a noise. Theres a switch with 3 levels. Its currently set to 3. If i move this down the noise decreases
The other big thing, far right also has a switch with 3 settings (the black box). This...
Ummm, what pumps? Are they on the pics above? If so, which ones are they and how do I know if they are running?
Sorry, I'm a bit of a divvie when it comes to this sorta thing :?
Apparently I dont have a feeder tank in the loft? Went across the road to ask someone if i could borrow their torch. He told me the fella who owned the house before me spent £700 odd quid putting a new system in and that "it comes from the mains", whatever that means. Think he was referring to...
Yeah. That kinda makes sense, or at least enough for me to know what to look for!!.
Many thanks for the help mate. Will check things out tomorrow. Assuming I find a lack of water, can I just get a bucket and fill it up to the required level ???
Thanks for the info.
Have had a few Stellas, so will leave the sumit climbing until tomorrow.
So I'm looking for lack of water in this big black tank? Weird how lack of water in that could result in luke warm water out of me taps. Is there some kind of mix that occurs somewhere then, where...
OK, am at the airing cupboard with me laptop....
The temp adjuster (a white plastic thing made by honeywell) has one white cable coming out of it. It joins 3 other cables that all go into the wall. Presume this leads to the loft?
Couple of what might seem obvious questions..
Whats an...
Stock reply? Ummmm, yeah. You're talking to a complete thicko here when it comes to this sort of thing :P
Thanks for the the reply though. Will go check it out in a bit. Expect more questions to follow.....!
Hi all,
Had a quick look through the forum and cant find a problem similar to mine, so here goes....
A couple of days ago my hot water system decided to start giving me just luke warm water. Not hot, not cold, just luke warm. I think its a gas based system and I know the gas is ok as my...
