Nope, they're warm, but not hot. It was this that first made me realise I had a problem because the house was not warming up when I turned the heating on. Am off home now, so will answer your Q from last night, about the tank being warm. Cheers

On a similar note: In the bottom pic of those first three, theres a pipe that goes from right to left, bends 90 degress and then goes all the way down to the bottom. Dont know what this is (overflow I guess?), but its very loose. Its sitting in the socket, but its easily pulled if wigled...

You mean on the thermostat in my kitchen? If I have just water then nothing seems to be happening with the pink one. If I turn on the heating and water then the pink thing seems to be doing something. Can feel it vibrating and getting warm

OK, think i know what you mean now. The big green thing bottom left is hot and seems to be making a noise. Theres a switch with 3 levels. Its currently set to 3. If i move this down the noise decreases The other big thing, far right also has a switch with 3 settings (the black box). This...

Yep, theres water in there, right up to about 6 inches from the top. The water is cold at the top :(
