Nope, they're warm, but not hot. It was this that first made me realise I had a problem because the house was not warming up when I turned the heating on. Am off home now, so will answer your Q from last night, about the tank being warm. Cheers

On a similar note: In the bottom pic of those first three, theres a pipe that goes from right to left, bends 90 degress and then goes all the way down to the bottom. Dont know what this is (overflow I guess?), but its very loose. Its sitting in the socket, but its easily pulled if wigled...

You mean on the thermostat in my kitchen? If I have just water then nothing seems to be happening with the pink one. If I turn on the heating and water then the pink thing seems to be doing something. Can feel it vibrating and getting warm

Apparently I dont have a feeder tank in the loft? Went across the road to ask someone if i could borrow their torch. He told me the fella who owned the house before me spent £700 odd quid putting a new system in and that "it comes from the mains", whatever that means. Think he was referring to...

Thanks for the info. Have had a few Stellas, so will leave the sumit climbing until tomorrow. So I'm looking for lack of water in this big black tank? Weird how lack of water in that could result in luke warm water out of me taps. Is there some kind of mix that occurs somewhere then, where...

OK, am at the airing cupboard with me laptop.... The temp adjuster (a white plastic thing made by honeywell) has one white cable coming out of it. It joins 3 other cables that all go into the wall. Presume this leads to the loft? Couple of what might seem obvious questions.. Whats an...
