Best paint for external wall with possible mould / damp

Owatrol and Zinsser do good damp proof/anti damp/anti mould type paints which should be useful. Again, I think even a basic dehumidifier will protect this new 'extension' from getting any mould.

Problem area with mould in communal hallway.

A basic dehumidifier can protect against mould, even a very cheap disposable one. From what I understand mould cannot live in an area where damp/water isn't allowed to thrive. A dehumidifier will grab the water before mould has a chance to form. Having said that, it'd be no harm to use a damp...

    damaged wallpaper

That's a tricky one because the wallpaper has lifted text on it. I'd strip any paper of that particular wall and then paint it.(unless you have another piece of that wallpaper) but I suppose you're hoping for an easier option?

Radio/Air Con keeps turning on (MK II Seat Cordoba)

Thanks John. This CV boot business will be beyond my limited scope I think. I suppose I could drop it in to the local breakers who have started fitting and servicing too recently. I doubt it would be a big expense anyway! At least I hope not! Is there any reason to get it done sooner rather than...

Radio/Air Con keeps turning on (MK II Seat Cordoba)

Car passed the test which was great news. The tester told me that the CV boot on the front left side will need attention and he wouldn't leave it longer than a couple of months? The radio/air con came on during the test(as I predicted) but it isn't a test issue! Also, I was pleasantly...

Radio/Air Con keeps turning on (MK II Seat Cordoba)

Hi all. Just to confirm that the previous thread(coil pack related) which turned out to be a spark plug has been completely resolved. Engine light turned off and car driving well. Car test tomorrow, so hopefully good news!! A strange thing has started happening now though. My radio comes...

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

Yeah. It's overdue a car test. I'm on a priority list for the car test. I normally use some fuel additive before the test to help keep emissions down just in case they're borderline. :)

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

Hopefully it didn't damage the CAT. I suppose spending money on new leads and coil isn't a bad thing, even if replacing the spark plug would have only cost 14 euros from the beginning!! :) Fingers crossed now everything's fine! Thanks for all your help. Mursal too.

    multiple drop ceiling pendant.

Thanks for the replies. Very little weight going on them actually. Very light..... light shades* *light light. I think they'll easily hold the weight, and there will be ceiling hooks to navigate each drop. I know how to wire this stuff and all, but I want to be sure that...

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

Ok. So far, so good. I'm feeling positive. I took out plug 4. It was covered in dark/back oil. Looks unhealthy, right? I put in the new one. I tightened it by hand and then did about a 30% circle turn to tighten with the wrench arm. Is that sufficient??? When I started the car, the...

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

Ok. Well, I've managed to get a spark plug and spanner from Consort. I'm waiting for the engine to cool down. Then I'm gonna swap it into the 4th cylinder. It's a Bosch F7 LTCR plug. I've heard they're good plugs too! If this solves the problem, should I replace the other three plugs with the...

    multiple drop ceiling pendant.

The Ikea pendants have 1.8metres drop on each, but I'd be looking at extending 2 of them. 1 to 5.5metres and another to about 3.5metres. You wouldn't trust that to be safe then?

    multiple drop ceiling pendant.

I'm adding a multiple drop ceiling pendant to a hallway. Basically, the electrician(as part of the building team) doesn't want to make 4 log individual drops from the ceiling for me, and he doesn't want to source the multiple drop pendant either. It's a long story but he comes as part of a...

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

John, thanks. I will get a close up pic of the injectors asap. I hope to change the air filters this week, so I guess, I'll be forcing the engine cover off. I know I can force it off, but the suction thingy's make me feel like I'm going to break something!! I'll get it done though. The spark...

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

Halfords won't sell me a single spark plug. Only packs of 4, starting at 33 Euros! I will buy a full set IF and WHEN I figure out whether or not I actually need them! Hopefully Consort will sell me a single spark plug tomorrow(and a wrench to swap them out). If not, I'll have to buy...

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

Ok, so any cheap plug to run the test will do, right, and if it works, then maybe I can look at matching it up to the others. These take 14mm plugs and I think it requires a 16mm wrench. Hopefully I can pick up a cheap plug! For some reason, they're 3 times the price here as they are in the UK!

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

Just checked ebay for fuel injectors for my car and they are sold loose and in sets of 4, so that hopefully answers that! Still wondering about the spark plug? Is it ok to mix the plugs with other types of plug longterm or should they match for better performance?

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

I'm not savvy enough to know how many injectors are in this car or where to look for them! :( I could buy a single spark plug and a plug ratchet and change plug 4 and see if it makes any difference? Would it matter to mix and match spark plugs? The 4 that are in right now were expensive high...

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

Hi Mursal. Well, yes it runs very smooth after a minute or so. However, if I'm stopped at the lights or whatever, it seems to be shaking a little more than it should be, but it seems to be running smoother since the coil and then smoother again since the leads were changed, but it still misfires...
