    Building mono-pitch roof

You could screw together pieces of your ply to replicate a rafter length and use that to create a template ready for when timber is available, save you trying to do that bit off ladders. You might find a timber merchant doing a delivery only service, it's supposed to be essential building...

Use insulated board or battens, insulation between then PB

Yes that is another option IT Minion. I added battens as told it minimised pb movement cracks late,r also thought might prompt agree/disagree comments from those on here who do this type of job more often. Guess it's harder to find/follow joists (or battens) to screw PB into if covered with a...

    Building mono-pitch roof

Roof pitch determines birdsmouth angles, need only be cut wide enough to sit flat on plate. 4" wide may not necessarily mean 4" deep, shallower the pitch = less height is cut out. Don't over cut depth more than necessary, just enough to sit level & flat on the plate. Your eaves detail determines...

    Low pitch tiles

The redland regents are possibly more attractive being a more uniform shape (yes I know its only a tile!) they cost a few pence more than the Marley. The sample from Marley is the original mendip as they don't send out the 12.5 version as samples (strange!) but it has two surface grooves seen...

Use insulated board or battens, insulation between then PB

Just looking at cost of insulated plasterboard, surprised in the cost difference. Guess there is a time saving though on a ceiling it may make it more difficult. 120mm celotex in between 200mm rafters on low pitch vaulted ceiling. Choice is either 37.5mm insulated PB over top (25mm insulation)...

    What ceiling finish in garage

The foil is effectively a vcl so taping joints completes its seal. Why osb? If just aesthetics maybe use 4mm ply, cheaper, thinner so less weight and easier to install

    Low pitch tiles

On Regents 100mm headlap is suggested but read you can go to 120mm, they are smoother than the marley mendip 12.5 what the mendips have is two groves cut across them presumably to minimise water tracking back up them, the Regents more symetrical in shape, I've a sample of each here

    Low pitch tiles

Noseall, that's something I'm hoping to avoid, it's a garage extension/conversion mono pitch that all goes in one direction (no not that boy band group) but I can't really gain more height to raise the pitch and prefer tiles to rubber or felt or metal as less noise and looks nicer, not in a...

    Low pitch tiles

Only come across only a few real tiles that will do a 12.5-degree pitch, I just wondered if any roofers on here had experience in any of the following or had observations which might be of interest/use that they would share. Tiles I've come across are Marley Mendip 12.5 Redland Regent...

    Smart Visifold 1000 Bifold doors

Thanks for the photos peanut, impressive full width. For us a traffic door is preferable as would be main door into garden, we don't have side access now, dog needs letting out and young kids are in and out all Summer. Thank you very much for your input Gazman, good to hear you've installed with...

    Roof rafter sizes

I'd looked at those as well as corrugated panels, insulated sandwich panels, metal sheet was another option but figured tiles are more robust and less noisey when underneath them.

Single skin garage toilet insulating advice requested

Blown plaster gained you extra 12-15mm to insulate it then! Any heating going in? Sounds like damp may have caused Pb to blow, any dpc? Mechanically fix 25mm insulated plasterboard to walls or cheaper option line with thin eps boards ad affix your panels over top maybe

Self level compound, I don’t know what I’m doing

My money on another levelling compound and/or concrete patched in repair rather than calcium sulphate. Personally I'd prime and carry on, Ardex will cover themselves with the least risky option and just based on a photo you can understand that.
