Oops, what have I done? (light switches)

Yeah that's something I've done in the past, this time I didn't have my phone to hand so I drew a little 'C' '1' and '2' on the wires as I saw them heading towards their respective terminals. But it was pretty dark- so maybe that '2' wire at the last moment darted into the L1 terminal out of...

Oops, what have I done? (light switches)

No idea about the black wires. Just 3 red ones coming into that switch and 1 earth. So it must be my ageing eye-sight, but I could have sworn the L1 and L2 were both in use when I first opened the unit up. I have now put both L wires into L1 and the downstairs lighting is now working again...

Oops, what have I done? (light switches)

I should also say that's there's only 1 light switch controlling the 1 ceiling light. And I thought that seemed strange that there was an L1 and L2 wire. best small wall plugs

I'm going to be putting up some shelves into a brick wall (covered with 1/2 inch plaster) Heavy solid oak shelves. Each shelf is 7.1Kg Bought some metal brackets that say they can hold 100Kg+ and the holes in them accommodate a 5mm screw max. There are 3 holes in each bracket so I'm hoping to...
