    Going from vented to a pressurised system. One installer told me that you can keep the pressure lower on a conventional boiler (with pressure vessel and pump in the airing cupboard) compared with a system boiler. Is that correct and if so why? Thanks

    saw a bloke on u tube cutting through a plastic pipe with a piece of nylon thread or something similar.( by moving it back and forward) anyone know about that or otherwise a not too expensive cutter, they look expensive at Screwfix thanks

    Am going to replace old wc in next few weeks. So, concrete floor , when pan installed years ago it was obviously located on a big mound of wet concrete. Just wondered best way to remove, is it a hammer job/smashing it up? Thanks

    Thanks Ian, yes I've been thru all that with the quotes that I have had. Torn between leaving it or changing but I know that when it breaks down there are no spares available, Gloworm spacesaver mk1, ,Sods law it will break down on a winter's day.

    About 30 years ago I had a vokera combi boiler and I used to change the fan myself when it packed up. Having read posts on here it looks like u have to be gas safe to even remove the boiler case. So what has changed and does it apply to all boilers? Thanks

    That is correct, only thing is if they are ancient they could drip slightly but u won't know until u take the rad off

    I brought some Granville clear gasket sealant but unsure, is there a better one or is this ok? Also do I put the sealant on both sides of gasket including the side that fits into the channels of can cover? Thanks

    Do u have a shower cubicle situated near to the toilet? They are often the culprit. If not It may be easier to create a large hole in the box section and peer inside with torch
