    Hive or Tado

I have a Nest. You can just turn off the learning bits if you like. These idiots probably haven't got their config right. For example I have 'true radiant' off and 'auto schedule' off. In other words, I choose and program my own schedule and it doesnt turn itself on early to get up to temp...

    Noisy soil stack

Bit of a funny one. Got back from 2 weeks visiting family and the upstairs bathroom soil stack is now making a noise I can only describe as an echo of filling water when I either flush the bog upstairs or even worse noise when I run the basin taps. Can't see any evidence of backfilling but it...

Nest 3rd Gen - wiring question

The heatlink goes where the programmer is as you describe... L/N/3/6 and then you need to run T1/T2 from the heatlink to the actual Nest reusing existing wiring or go wireless between them. Replicate what you've got now. PS its boxing day im hammered.

    Neff Dishwasher not filling up

Are the salt and rinse aid levels ok? If so, try pouring a jug of water into hole at the bottom and try and run. If no luck it might be a faulty pump.

Wall-Hanging Basin Support Needed [Bracket] in SE5

You can't be sure what the walls are made from by tapping alone. Your description of sounding hollow in places but solid in others might be dot and dab too. Whats the other side of the wall? Is there any sockets/switches you could remove to look into the wall? Failing that, drill a narrow...

    Nest 2nd Generation - Vaillant ecoTec Pro 28 h combi A

Where is the current thermostat installed? Hallway? What have you got at the boiler end? This is where the heatlink would normally go and the actual nest would go where your pictures show. You would disconnect the old cable from the wiring centre at the boiler end and re-use it for the 12v feed...

    Moving Bathroom Upstairs

Choosing an electric shower over a thermostatic shower fed from a combi is madness. If I could pick any type of shower regardless of boiler etc, an electric shower would be my last choice. A thermostatic bar shower should not go cold if someone else uses a tap. A reduction in flow yes, but not...
