    Sleeper wall

If removing the wall you might get some earth spilling forward, and would also have to dig some out to create space to work on your sleeper wall and support holes. You'd need to 'park' all that soil (presumably on your lawn for the duration - lay a tarpaulin first if so). The you have the...

    Retaining wall concrete blocks?

No I'm sure you haven't been ripped off - my recollection on price was down to having bought via a mate's trade account

    Retaining wall concrete blocks?

Not familiar with your 7NF reference, but bog standard "dense" (not aerated) blocks from any building supply company for well under £1 each. Standard size 440x225x100mm. Be sure to put some gaps or pipes through to allow drainage, otherwise you'll end up with a dam. PavingExpert.com is a great...

    Outside bbq

Presumably it'd be over 6 feet tall (unless you're a vertically-challenged family ) so would require planning permission. Contact your local council's planning department

    Leaning fence

'scuse my ignorance scbk, but what are they (tried googling but not finding anything that might resemble a fix for me)?

    Leaning fence

I've seen these on t'internet - any idea if you think they'd help? I appreciate your concrete post is the best solution, but seeking a short term fix without having to approach the neighbour...

    Leaning fence

Thanks Andy, though my fence posts were set in postcrete first time around, so I don't think I could dig out the space for those posts without having to dig up my slabs and using a hammer drill. Any easier (though less effective) solutions?

    Leaning fence

A little fencing advice please... one of our fences has started to lean (no doubt the 25 year old posts are giving up) but they're in the middle of a long run that we'd rather not replace (yet). I can easily push it back to upright - about a foot of movement - and am looking to prop it back up...

    French drain

Better that the gravel base and pipe follow the decline of the hole so that the water will drain in that direction (assuming you have somewhere for the water to drain to :D). Recommend you use a pea/round gravel type rather than angular to ensure gaps remain for the water to drain through. Also...

Lawn In Bad Shape - Moving Out Rented House - How Can I Fix?

Maybe too late to this particular party, but don't go too overboard with the lawn-feed/moss killer (if that's what it is you've bought) - in the short time you have before departure, all a ferrous-based tonic will do is turn any moss black - which will look worse on your landlord's inspection...

    Aco drainage issue

FWIW I installed 15 level metres of it along my patio, and the water finds its way to 2 outlets (one at each end). Just be sure to clear out any accumulated gunk once a year.

    Shortening fence posts

I've been told never to cut a fence post flat - do it at a slight angle so rainwater wont sit on the top and speed rotting

    Levelling lumpy bumpy dippy lawn

Exactly as cwhaley suggests - to level the soil/sand into the hollows I attached a rope to a set of stepladders, put a couple of cement blocks on top to weigh it down, and dragged it by the rope round & round, up & down. Beats breaking my back down on my hands and knees :D

    Shed roof repair guidance

Well this job escalated quickly! Being an impatient type I set about it this morning, and after ripping the roof off I checked the flooring and decided it also needs to be replaced due to damp (see first photo). So now I have a roofless shed balanced on a few bricks in the corners and am...

    Shed roof repair guidance

Cheers scbk. Found this useful website and like the sound of EPDM. My little shed has two roof faces of 2m x 1m each, so a couple of decent replacement boards and a single piece of EPDM seems like the best plan unless anyone can convince me such would be folly...

    Fixing a retaining wall

Looks like you've already done the hardest bit by creating the space to work. Be sure to get a few quotes and learn what their work would entail (its amazing the different approaches/opinions tradesmen sometimes have!). Seeing that half of your wall is already standing it would be interesting to...

    Fixing a retaining wall

To do justice to the walls around it (yours and the neighbours) it looks like a job for a professional. If your going for it yourself then search youtube for guidance videos, and browse http://www.pavingexpert.com/featur03.htm. I'm just an amateur who built his own retaining walls, but the (tons...

    Shed roof repair guidance

Storm Ali has wrecked my shed's felt. Well, to be honest its been needing attention for a year or two and the roof's OSB board under the felt has rot/damp so I guess a proper job is to replace the whole roof. Are there any better alternatives to using board and felt I should consider? clear...

    Concrete Shed base

place a few cheap tiles in the dip for the wooden base to lay over, preventing the wood from sitting in a puddle (tiles wont rot in water)

    Paving issue?

Given how close the patio is to the door threshold, it looks to me like the patio has been raised - suggest you check where the damp proof course is, as it might be lower that the patio which could cause damp issues. Angling slabs like that can minimise direct water ingress and prevent a puddle...
