    Understanding how my boiler operates

Replace flash timer with Drayton wiser 1

Hmm. I have the full wiser system on a fully trvd system with CH and HW. My system used to be Splan. I now have only one motorised valve where i used to have 3. (I actually reused a mv to replace the bypass but thats a different story). I bought a 3channel wiser kit. I only needed a...

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

https://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/support/literature/download/TB%20117 Wonder if the pump isn't up to the task in its setting.? (Fyi only. I am outside any skill zone here) Edit: purely for info only and perhaps something to be aware of when discussing with a pro. Might be relevant or not...

    Intergas X-plan with two zones

Get that. However, my family love it. They control their own spaces with the twist of the rad valve. 20 rads means lots of rooms. Having even half on them on a standby temp when not used saves a huge amount. Also, i think the above (zero zone) works very well with home insulation...

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

Did you fully open the lockshield as well as the TRV when you did this?

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

Mine was .4 and i don't have more than 14 radiators in total! The lower the setting, the easier it is for the system to open it and just dump water back. If you have circulation problems, then this will just pop open. I notice there is a set of couplings in the vertical main pipe? Was this...

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

0.2 bar on the abv is low isn't it? Is it open all the time? (Hot on the outlet). Google the brand and make and read the settings instructions. Easy enough. Might be worth a shot.

Not all radiators working. Running out of ideas

This suggestion falls on deaf ears but I'll offer it up here anyway. If you can, draw a schematic of what you have. *Helps you understand what you have *Helps you problem solve *Helps others problem solve *Is a valuable reference. Doesn't take long either and then you quickly see the obvious...

It's mostly lifestyle projection by the cultists who obsess over the minutiae of espresso. I'm convinced they don't actually like it lol.

    Understanding how my boiler operates

Changing to Wiser and zoning every room and rad has made a big dent in the gas usage but the house still needs to be kept warm. You can only do so much with the structure you inherit.

    Understanding how my boiler operates

Fully agreed. I'm walking that sane path myself and upgrading/improving as the older stuff in the house wears out. The boiler is next which will be a huge turning point in the heat system of the house. Studying atm about HPs etc but the recovery time on the investment costs (to get the heat...

    Tado / Bypass Radiator

Dead easy but as always, it's only easy if you've done it before.... Plenty of vids online. You can get just the trv bodies without the head. I used Myson but take your pick. Just be careful to match the finish. Also, the Myson valves are bidirectional meaning (in your case) you can have the...

upgrading heating control to smart - complete newbie!

I pulled all my fixed thermostat wiring out. Dead tech. It will never be used in this house again. Just wire the controller output directly to the zone valve. (I got rid of them as well but that's another story).

Socket not quite flush, bead of silicone or decorators caulk?

That would bug me. I'd be taking the back box out or sanding it flush. Or at the worst, use that packer posted previously. Sealant of any kind in a kitchen quickly looks awful. Wouldn't want it anyway near a plug socket where water is a potential. But thats just me.
