Council contractor wants to replace conventional boiler with combi

Bit harsh when the chap just wants to keep something that suits him. Give the guy a break. Dupfold, Make a phone call to the relevant department and ask the question.

Getting rid of old radiators - value? scrap?

The dirty water that was inside them would probably have been a better earner.

How would you plumb this rad?

Put a bit of hair felt wrap/tube between the pipe and the timber. It will stop the pipework ticking.

    Under Floor Heating Balancing

You'll need to flush those loops with mains pressure, a venting setting on a circulator won't shift a loop full of air.

Cost of Unvented Cylinder and System Boiler Installation

I'd think you'd have to ask several companies before finding one willing to take on this job. It's not the sort of work that companies like as the opportunity to make any profit at all is removed. Your best bet would be a weekender or a youngster looking for a bit extra. I certainly wouldn't...

    Inhibitor in wrong tank

It won't be anything too harmful, its made with the thought that if your cylinder coil gives up it will enter your DHW system anyway. As Dan says, flush it through, just leave the taps on for a few hours!

Combi Boiler with Inbuilt Weather Compensation

In fairness it only makes a difference at the planning stage for saps etc, it will never get picked up if you didn't fit it. We've done several new builds where it's been specced but the customer didn't want it.

    Spirotech Filter

Speaking from experience, domestic spirotech filters are well made but not very effective at capturing black magnetite particles. Out of all of them adey magnecleans give the best results. Spirotech make excellent products elsewhere in their range, we always hold spirotop air vents in stock as...

Help! £1000 for Underfloor Heating, need to decide by 8am!

Ufh would be great in that area, the extension will be well insulated and it will provide a nice even temperature. Make sure you know your kitchen layout as well as any island or peninsulas as its best not to lay any pipework under units. You will need to be prepared to keep this area heated...
