    Looking for two specific products

Seen through coupling patch panels, but not come across a faceplate version. Would make installation easier for people without the correct tools for terminating the cable.

    Looking for two specific products

I assumed looking for a through coupling faceplate that accepted a plug in the back as well as the front.

Do you mean have a cable from a network socket running directly to an RJ45 plugged into the router? Normally you have a run of solid core network cable between two sockets and use patch leads at each end.

Reccomend wetroom tray brands. General Q's

No problems as yet. Its a grohe one, get to cistern through flush plate, fair sized hole. Worst case i go through the wall behind! Its fitted in a stud wall made of 2"x8" (can just squeeze in frame and sidesward running 110mm soil pipe behind it) and the other side is just a...

Reccomend wetroom tray brands. General Q's

I used mapei grout and matching coloured silicone. Decent stuff. My house is quite old and the floor levels were a mile out. Ripped up all the floorboards and glued and screwed sistered joists with noggins to set floor levels, using 25mm ply for floor outside of tray. I did put a very slight...

Reccomend wetroom tray brands. General Q's

Yes it was the one with the rotating waste section. I did like the idea of the linear drain one but there was no way I could fit one of those with joist layout. Not sure on drain rate, my shower is only a combi fed mixer and the drain easily clears water away. Linear would of made tiling with...

Reccomend wetroom tray brands. General Q's

I used impey kit for my wetroom. Their former was only one I could find that would allow the drain to miss floor joists where I was fitting it - very clever design. Good quality stuff.

    PIR ceiling sensors

PIR sensor power usage in standby is in tens of milliwatts range. Over a year would cost a few pence in electricity not pounds.

    PIR ceiling sensors

Movement behind window shouldnt be an issue if its closed. PIR wont work through glass.

    PIR ceiling sensors

I fitted a PIR in my understairs WC and I have yet to suffer it cutting out whilst sitting on the throne. I did have one cut out in a service station loo whilst in a cubicle leaving me in total darkness. The time delay on it had been set very short and was not possible to re-trigger with there...

    Confirmation of insulation board type

From picture looks like foam cored tile backer boards which have fiberglass reinforcement on the surface. Available in different thicknesses. Can be used as insulation for floors, but can also be used to board walls. My wetroom walls are constructed from them.

    House For Sale

Bath in a nicely done large bedroom can work as a nice nice place to relax (like a fancy hotel room), but that just looks odd. o_O I find the light not being centred above the dining table more upsetting though (admittedly not dangerous like the socket by the bath)! :D

Sparky tried to do CAT5 repair!

On closer inspection zooming in on the photo it looks like the cables have been stripped before being put in the crimps (certainly the blue wire )?? They are designed to be self cutting through the insulation so no stripping required. I wonder if the lack of insulation has narrowed the cable...

Sparky tried to do CAT5 repair!

I've done several repairs that way. Always kept the twist on the pairs as best as possible and always got away with it. Its not the best method but if your not pushing it on cable run length it should still be running faster than 10. Another way to splice them together is by soldering with...

    Quiet inline extractor fans?

Haha yeah, when I parked the worse for wear mondeo I had at the time in the garage it looked rather out of place to!

    Quiet inline extractor fans?

Yup, my other half used to work there. They've redone all the spa recently to make that even more swish but not been up there since thats been done.

    Quiet inline extractor fans?

For late night pee needs I put a double lightswitch in to control the lights and fan in my upstairs wetroom. This isn't just to control the lights and fan independantly - one switch puts the lights on full brightness and triggers the fan, the other switches on the lighting via a dimmer and...
