    Another resin bound drive question

So I can't lay one block a day and finish in 2030 then. Why not ?

    Another resin bound drive question

Thanks woody. I think I've given up on resin. I'm on to my next daft idea which will probably involve lots of sand and blocks.

Is it ok To lay block paviors on old tarmac??

Fairly old thread but thought best to keep the info together. Interesting contributions and of relevance to anyone who already has a tarmac drive which is getting tatty or perhaps like me want to extend it a little. I think there are different types of tarmac open and closed with one sort...

    Another resin bound drive question

Thanks, so if I did it like that then it would look like lots of patches each of slightly different colour?

    Another resin bound drive question

Since we're mostly a DIY site I'm hoping the answer isn't hire 6 blokes to help you.... Can I put this type of drive down slowly? A few sqm today, a few more tomorrow and the next day. I've got 250sqm to do but all the time in the world. Maybe some types of resins or gravels are more resistant...

Planning needed for new drive or not?

Can anyone tell me what kind of drive this is just from the photo or is that not possible? I _think_ it might be permuble as I tipped a full bucket of water on and came back 5 minutes later to see no puddles. Photo taken after light rain all day today. SO now since that is I think permeable I'm...

Planning needed for new drive or not?

Thanks, I think you're right. I'm (honestly) not that disappointed because I'm only at the very early stages of thinking how to improve the current eyesore. No doubt there are other threads on this subject dating back to 2008 but I'm amazed they made the rules as they are.

Planning needed for new drive or not?

Hello All Existing drive is hard standing of some kind and I'm guessing its not permeable (?) - built it the 1970s and most people would call it a "concrete" drive. If I want to put in a new drive that replaces that with other non-permeable material and possibly also want to increase the size...

Saw this photo of a house on RM

You can often get it from comparing with the EPC records. I guess we could ask FMT how he go it.

Saw this photo of a house on RM

Its not mine and I won't be buying it but I just noticed it. Here's the link in case anyone else is even more curious than me and digs into the planning... https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/167761445#/media?activePlan=1&id=media8&ref=photoCollage&channel=RES_BUY

Saw this photo of a house on RM

It might be fake but its definitely one of the photos on a Rightmove listing. Not sure why an EA would leave it as is if it didn't exist. Understandable though in this age of AI, photoshop etc to think that. Dunno maybe you'll turn out to be right but I don't think so....

    Chopping up a big fridge/freezer

I have a feeling I'm going to be told its not legal and generally I shouldn't do it. Its 2M tall and fits into one kitchen bay so about 600x600 Council wants £58 to collect. I'm planning to take off the doors and unscrew anything I can see. In fact I'd be willing to take the time to dismantle...

Ball valve in cold water tank with very low mains pressure

I know this is 11 years old but its as relevant now as it was then. In my search for the ideal valve, I have noticed that a 3/4" valve I bought actually had if anything a slightly smaller restriction than a 1/2" I already had. Both are part 2s. So I would think that connecting it would only be...

How to install a railing on these steps

I don't know although could ask the builder next week. Are you saying that would affect the method of installation of a railing ? Or just the type that might be required ?

How to install a railing on these steps

Ahhh but not where these stairs are being installed. (A certain war-torn eastern european country.....). That said, clearly looks like you could break your ankle easily on them. I don't know yet if they plan to fit some wood on top and if so whether that would reduce said tread significantly...
