    A plumber who visited my house couldn't understand why the programmer was there and a plumber today in Cheltenham told me being in that position it would affected by the heat coming off the water cylinder. If it is a programmer.........do I assume that it regulates what times the boiler comes...

    The rads stayed cold. As I understand the system was pre-set when installed to come on between the hours shown. If I knew how to load up a photo on this website I could load one up of the thermostat next to the water tank and the boiler.

    I happened to be up at 4am today. The thermostats in my six year old house are set at 21° and they showed a temperature of 17° in the house.     Thanks for the replies and I really won't be touching anything! The shower is fine when at its top point on the dial inside the shower cubicle. Normally when you turn the dial to its highest point in other showers the water gets rather hot. Mine is a decent acceptable temperature at best.

    Easy radiator query

    My house is five years old. The ground floor thermostat is on the wall in the wide hallway. Behind the hallway is a large kitchen which has NO thermostat in it. The door to the front room is usually closed and in this room is a radiator with NO thermostat on it, so it can't be turned down...
