yes! that is what i found out after posting this cry for help! and it worked, thanks for your suggestion : )

its a lavamat turbo aeg and it hates us! it wouldnt drain so we cleaned the filthy stinky filter, then when we tested it, it now wont fill up. the water pours into the drum and straight through and out into the drain. any ideas??
