    Lawnmower recommendations

Very happy with my Flymo eBay outlet store electric hover mower, I do have a shed with power directly adjacent to my not very big lawn which makes this a fairly good choice. If you have a long garden and have to run the power all the way from the house like my dad's place it can be a faff.

The Khant is helping London drivers.

The drivers using it should be paying for the Silvertown instead of Londoners who never even wanted it in the first place, the idea you could toll just that and have the tunnel adjacent still free is ridiculous.

The Khant is helping London drivers.

Prior to the pandemic TFL was using the profit from fare income to pay for the roads that TFL look after after Boris agreed central government grant cuts before he headed out of the door, it's only now getting back to where it was and is still TFL's biggest source of income by a mile.

Why should people who use the tube subsidise drivers from Kent and Essex?

Is this an old BT junction box?

Given the modern dropwire going off to the right it's almost certainly jelly crimps in there already

Getting Loft insulation through a tiny hatch ??!!

If the edge is curved and smooth it should slide over without much damage, put the roll on top of something high and have someone at the bottom feeding it, the difficulty will be that the 400mm width is the most useful which may or may not match up with the orientation of how you want to lay the...

    USB-C Socket

If you're breaking out USB-C power you can buy decoy boards that have a negotiation chip on to request the desired voltage which is then just wired onto the output in the usual way, first one I could find on eBay is: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225805150560 But there's loads of them around

    USB-C Socket

The one that Sunray has linked looks like it's solely a 5V supply, the faster USB-C charging speeds rely on it negotiating higher voltages such as 9V or 12V which I don't believe I've seen in a socket type format, only normal plug-in chargers.

    DIN mounted electricity energy meters

Any scope to put anything at at the other end where it's fed from? Current clamp metering round a live or neutral needs a voltage measurement to accurately measure the power consumption but an old Current Cost home energy monitor unit that assumes a fixed voltage value might give you a vague...

    You need a smart meter

Around 1 million meters to be replaced in just over 2 years, doesn't sound that premature to start planning replacements.

It's Ofgem guidance? https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/information-consumers/energy-advice-households/radio-teleswitch-electricity-meters-consumer-guidance What else would you expect them to replace it with if you still need multi-rate?

    BT Socket Help

Looks like a 20 pair cable, you sure you're not being distributed from another internal distribution point somewhere if this is a portakabin? Be an odd thing for Openreach to bring into a building like that.

The rubbish some people consider suitable

A friend of mine who is a semi-pro stage tech did tell me of the tour of Godspell they were taking round a lot of small scout/villages hall venues, in the venues with a kitchen it wasn't unknown to commandeer the cooker supply for the dimmer packs.

The rubbish some people consider suitable

PAT testing machine says yes! Too much to ask that they install a few more convenient fixed sockets for events use? Fix some of the problems at source.

Back ground power use on socket circuits?

It's useful to have an audit of 24/7 background power consumers, my parents have a Koi pond with a pump & filter, on doing the sums I worked out a more modern pump would pay for itself in 8-9 months during the recent energy price spike.

Safely dismantling light fixtures (capping wires)

What sort of voltage pen? The non-contact ones for tracing/finding wires aren't suitable for testing a circuit is dead before carrying out work.

    Solar Panels

Try to get some stats together for consumption and generation, prices are higher and each house is different so it's difficult to tell if you're comparing like with like unless you do the sums. Is there a display unit for the solar inverter or anything like that?
