Tower Hamlets set to rip out majority of popular low traffic neighbourhoods

"Streets" Like the A10 is the same as a residential street with cars parked both sides

The second electrician says the first one shouldn't have issued a satisfactory EICR.

Possibly but ... The labelling *is* clearly *******s and these sound like the kind of issues that may be immediately obvious from the size of the conductors wired into the MCBs no?

The second electrician says the first one shouldn't have issued a satisfactory EICR.

As Flameport has said BG MCBs aren't hard to come by so they've done it the wrong way untidily when it would have been easy to do it the "right" way should ring alarm bells about the stuff you can't see.

    BT Landline switch off

Openreach withdrawing copper line service does have issues, however ... This sounds somewhat contrived. You do? In a home? Do ye olde copper phone lines serve this function well or do they have their own set of issues? There is? ATA devices are normally rj11 socketed but not too tricky to use...

    Insulation dormer roof void

You have to also be aware of what you do with the services, if you put insulation over the ring main cabling the current carrying capacity may be reduced as it can't dissipate heat as well.

    Cutting the depth of kingspan

A 1200 x 2400 sheet of 25mm PIR is 30 quid, is it actually worthwhile?

    Samsung fridge freezer tripping electrics

If the element is definitely disconnected at both ends I'm struggling to see how it's that, it's a huge Fridge Freezer, is there another element anywhere else? It leaves you with the cooling bit and any control systems, the fact you can get PCBs for these on eBay is "interesting" but needs...

    Using a Rotavator

They can chop up weed roots a treat so you may wish you hadn't if the area is quite weedy

    Samsung fridge freezer tripping electrics

Is it the only device fed from the RCD that's tripping? No other potential sources of leakage?

Electric meter rEd display, does this mean all is OK?

The inverter has to monitor these values to drop off-grid if they're out of spec so it may as well display them, you can also find these values in the smart meter display menu which I keep having to look at as the comms unit hasn't hasn't worked on mine since I bought the place.

Gravity grille not opening when bathroom fan on

To be fair it says that picture is from Amazon (off a review?) so it's someone else's incompetence.

What are these RJ45 sockets for?

If it's a very new house there's guidance on this, the data points should come back to a "Primary Distribution Space" allowing easy internal distribution: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pas-2016-2010-next-generation-access-for-new-build-homes-guide Have a look in any cupboards near...

    Basic home network advice please

The difficulty is the Velop is primarily designed as a router device that sits behind your existing router so you can enforce parental controls etc It looks like it might work if you set them to bridging mode and use your existing VM router, the documentation is slightly ambigious but you could...

    Pilot holes for loft legs?

If it's the plastic square top loft legs it's unnecessary, you don't screw downwards parallel with the joist, you screw down perpendicular with the shoulder face of the loft leg which means the screws are going towards the centre on a slight tilt from each side. I highly recommend sitting down...

    Basic home network advice please

Velop appears to expect point to point connections rather than making use of an underlying ethernet network, this article explains more: https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=217442 This unfortunately means the cabling you've got won't be that useful unless there's also a mesh...

    Tool to track electric cable?

The leads on these are made out of cheese and will just fall apart in seconds, I bought an Amazon one (!) as I needed to do some basic DC/continuity tests as my nice meter has been mislaid during the house move, it's not terrible https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B083V82H97/

The second electrician says the first one shouldn't have issued a satisfactory EICR.

They're the same CU and MCBs aren't they? The blurry pic just has them rearranged and a couple more MCBs from another vendor. Even on the "before" pic the 32A is for the cooker not a "Washing Machine" surely?

I count 9 MCBs with 7 circuits on the EICR report?

    Your Money's No Good Here

I cycled the NC500 two years ago and everywhere took card with no issue at all. Most of the petrol stations can't even take cash as they have no staff, you pay at the pump.
