it appears to be taped at all the joins ( kind of chequered tape) and some sort of sealant over that. is that what you mean?

the paint is not a problem. I have plenty of paint (bought some a while ago then changed my mind and shop wouldnt take it back!). I cant leave my hall the way it is until I get some money together!

I have just had a new plasterboard ceiling installed in my rather large hall. My insurance would not cover me for the initial damage and I had to fork out rather a lot of money to have this done. unfortunately I am now left with no money and a rather unnatractive ceiling! Can I just paint...
