WC into understairs pantry - nightmare

Oh, what am I getting myself into here... From what I am reading, I guess the WC pan is cemented into the house clay soil pipe and can get thus broken when being removed? There will a wooded raised floor put in about 2 bricks up to make the garage floor level with the rest of the house...

WC into understairs pantry - nightmare

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it will be a hassle extending that old waste into the pantry? I think its a 110mm pipe extender - the plumber scared the heck out of me by saying that pulling out the old Garage WC from the clay floor collar, could present all kinds of issues - e.g. if the...

To cut or not to cut? - that is the question...

https://www.wickes.co.uk/Everbuild-Evercryl-Emergency-Roof-Repair-Cartridge---Clear/p/190840 This seemed to do the job. Smothered a bit of wood with it to fill the big gaps and then pipped in and around the cracks. Lets see. Time will tell.

To cut or not to cut? - that is the question...

Ta. Will have a look although time is a bit short for the weekend to get materials together. I did notice some tiles out on the roof, with some water ingress. This one seems close to the chimney... This gap between two tiles on the other side... Just wondering if I can adjust them back...

To cut or not to cut? - that is the question...

Thanks for the reply. Thanks for the reply. Was wondering if there were some fancy cages or other options - and I was missing a trick with. Would like it running from one side to another - but Its a large span for any purchased wood - so it would need a couple of pieces, and twin slot...

    Who makes the best paint

I had some recent successes with Johnstons paints when doing external woodwork. Can get from most stores. Thick, non drip, and barely needed two coats. Wicks own brand paint seems to be like water and thus I returned it. https://www.johnstonespaint.com/

To cut or not to cut? - that is the question...

Loft is coming along with ladder, although had to raise the connector bar so it does not catch for now. Some basic flooring in place. Just wondering, if I have this amount of wall space that I wanted to create some storage affixed to the wall with... ...what is a good option.? Just some...

    A Lofty Question...

I am afraid is the latter - am generally incompetent (sigh and shoulders drop). But also am a hopeless optimist that with a little guidance a lot can be learnt for the betterment of everyone. However, can I stick a plug onto the lighting rig and plug it in the mains to test it all works? I...

    A Lofty Question...

Okay - you are all defo right. Nothing to worry about the wires, I think is the 1mm stuff I am using. And household lights are kind daisy chained and so nothing to worry about. And you are right about the MCB stuff. Fanks. How I can test this prior to going into the loft? Will be bringing a...

    A Lofty Question...

makes senese to wire it up outside of the loft. also these batten lights are a pain to fix and get the clips straight, so plan is to stick it onto a wood peice and then just screw that wood onto the loft beam when in the loft. Any easy way of testing the lighting rig prior to going back into...

    A Lofty Question...

Cause then there are three wires to accomodate into the switch and its cram to get the box closed without something moving inside and a right royal pain to get three copper wires to connect into each earth, neutral, live connection of the switch box - let alone try and closing it after.

    A Lofty Question...

yes, no diff there - but running one wire from the switch and then splitting means that one wire is carrying the load for two lights into the split connector - but I assume its so low with LED lights it don't matter? Edit - but then again when daisy chaining the first wire is carrying the load...
