    Patio project... advice needed

Use a jointing compound. https://www.geo-fix.com/ I'd personally lay the baksteen as bricks on a mortar bed on the patio borders, and joint with the Geo. Press it in hard and use a brick iron to finish. Good colours so you can enhance the job with a contrasting joint. You can of course do it...

Block paved patio, too much sand?

As long as it's all well compacted and the base is sound you'll be ok. But it must be screeded off with the sand tight. So if you follow that advice it will be a good solid job. I've done roads in block paving with 15mm to 120mm + depth sand but if it's solid it's fine. I used to work on about...

Block paved patio, too much sand?

You compact the sand, then screed off the excess. You need to screed it firm so it only compacts about 3-5 mm Your fine with that, compact again when laid cut in and sanded "joint sand" Set your screed about 5-7mm above the drain and pre set paving. You then compact new paving to level. This...

    Replacing patio

As above, if you redecorated a wall you wouldn't take the plaster off if it's all ok, just re-paper it.

    Paving discolouration

I'd have a word with suppliers "probably not a lot you can do at the moment" You need them to send a rep out, they are poor quality and not right. Colour hasn't mixed properly during manufacture. Are these from Travis perkins ect or garden centre. You may be able to simply return dodgy ones...

    At a loss with footpath

Clear the rubbish and weeds ,lay a slab path. You can go expensive slabs or second hand cheap, either way it will look better. You have a base so just sand cement and paving slabs needed, do it about 900mm wide. So single slab or you can random pave with 3 sizes or just 2 sizes reversed ever...

New patio - where to lay ACO drainage channel

As above, Acco drains can and usually would be set level hence at a wall or garage door. They have a direction arrow on them for water direction., So simply run to your gully ,soak away

    Help cleaning limestone patio

Well from an ex professional paving contractors point of view it's a very lazy joint finish your paving man did. That said if you wanted to re-joint all of it again it will be relatively easy. Geo-fix is very good but requires packing into the joint and ideally finishing with a pointing iron...

    Help cleaning limestone patio

That's a jointing compound. So a mortar cleaner won't do anything. You may be able to use a solvent but you need to check on a test area first. In my experience most stuff like this is temporary, so it may all go in the next few months. Also see if your patio man can tell you which joint...

How to finish gap between block paving and wall?

Leave the haunch, fill with a nice shingle, grannit or a slate.. It won't flirt as it's against a wall. It'll look finished too instead of well ... horrible and untidy.

    Drain Inspection Cover Fitting

Looks to me like a concrete in-situ finish and to me and not a slab. You can simply re do it ,you can buy a slab and cut it. That inspection cover is no problem, it's not screwed or anything , it's attached to the drain and usually sealed with a gasket. If it's bodger then it may need setting...

    Patio

Wherever possible run the water away from the house. You could run a acco all the way down the side of the house but where the slabs are that needs to fall away. Reason being if you get a problem the water will fill the acco but still be able to drain away from the house and stop the brickwork...

Block Driveway - Aggregate / Grit sand

25-50mm course sand is standard. If this base is solid a bit more course sand will be fine. It will compact a mm or 2 more finishd paving level wise but that's about it. Other thing is you may get deeper ant depression as they can make deeper nests. If you look after it and kill ants I can't...
