    Strange circles on patio slabs

There a cheaper quality pressed slab ,in time they will all fade to the outer colour. The outer edges tend to fade first. Or they go blotchy as they fade. Dearer slabs tend to be coloured with aggregate so its a natural colour, this doesn't fade but will weather and obviously will go green and...

how to improve ugly concrete driveway...

i'd use some planings or mot to give it a bed if you have enough room depth wise. and yes any interlocking aggregate should be ok. the planings should be a lot cheaper? do you need to cut a bit back at a path or road? As you should to get a safe finish level.

You will need to break it up quite small so its a bit like large hardcore. id then use 20mm granite topping as this will be more stable than gravel

    Lower Manhole Cover

Yes, get some checker plate for the bridge or use the original cast cover and frame laid the other way. You can butt the recess frame upto it or on it partially as you will be setting in mortar. Ps you dont need full access at that depth to clean so you could get away with 450mm no problem

    Removing old patio and replacing

Weed control sheet under the sand . Ideally sand and cement mix for slabs. The weed control is not essential but will help prevent small roots and worms from mining the sand. If you use a good bed of 6:1 sand cement that will go quite hard anyway.

    Stihl multi tool bushcutter/strimmer

The cutter is a multi edge blade so not like a conventional strimmer . It will chop through heavy undergrowth far easier.
