Small joist, Wet underfloor heating, what to do??

Cheers, They don't screed it though, they slap chipboard down. Not saying it can't be done. How large is the floor space... thinking about weight of screed etc. Also depending on floor covering this may reduce the performance of the UFH.

Small joist, Wet underfloor heating, what to do??

I think this is problem on all levels, but I'm willing to be proved wrong. 75mm PIR is not the recommended thickness, think it may be 150 now, there are lots with 100mm though. 25mm screed is not really thick enough to embed a 15mm pipe and have enough mass to provide a good thermal store. You...

Small joist, Wet underfloor heating, what to do??

Why not use the overlay boards instead? How far are the joists from the ground?

School Bus Stopping Outside House. Kids entering driveway and came up to window. Scratched car.

I've been having issues this last few months on and off with anti social kids, kicking gates/doors and throwing things at houses on the street. Hadn't got a camera, but have now, and have to say it's great, only a cheapo, I have it at the window, means it just plugs in at the wall, quick to...

What is it with oven bulbs?

It's NAFF not NEFF! I've the same with my oven, lost patience trying to get the glass cover off so I've let it be, will be interested if you get the housing out.:(

    Epoxy resin and nut allergies

Cheers for the link. Did you buy their stabiliser as well? Are you using as adhesive or are you using for rot/splicing in?

    wifi cctv camera recommendation please.

Thanks all, ended up with tape c100 and mounted inside... as getting power was much more straight forward and I could have it all sorted straight away. I have to say the camera is very good for £20. I have some street lighting near so can leave the camera on daylight mode... as the infra red...

Angle Grinder - Wattage, Button/Trigger, and Recommendations?

I've used the 115mm Makita cordless, its a tidy grinder, nice and light.... but has a terrible on/off switch... especially when its covered in dust!

    Fked floor in kitchen... Help

Liquid DPM is very thin... I was wondering if you could sneak in some insulation and screed. But the answer over is no to that. If there was no damp previously, and your are re-tiling then I'd use self levelling to get the floor flat, then normal adhesive and tile. I've never used liquid DPM...

    wifi cctv camera recommendation please.

It's not just about price, I know nothing about these cameras, but at the moment there has been a few anti social goings-on (things thrown at houses/doors etc) and would like to have the ability to have some footage, should it be needed. Installation may be a little difficult, as I'm fairly...

    wifi cctv camera recommendation please.

Seem to be having a bit of antisocial behaviour on my street, and I'm thinking of installing a camera. Does anyone have recommendations or advice for a camera? Was thinking of something like this, but I see from the reviews there is monthly charge for motion detection, are there any that don't...

    Extension Roof & Guttering Options

Mate has just had a cold roof 'done' by the roofers. It's a rubber finish that looks very good, but the insulation is a mess, rushed IMO. If it was mine I would have gone warm roof.

Retrofit Wet Underfloor Heating - Insulation Thickness/Material

If you are embedding pipes you really want 50-75mm of screed, with a good chunk of insulation underneath it 100/150mm. 30mm of insulation won't work as well as the recommended amount. You may be better looking at an overlay system where you have insulated pipe trays and you click the pipe in...

    Extension Roof & Guttering Options

No, more a limitation of windows on current property. Loftiness and light is what you want, feel a bit sorry for my mate, it's been an opportunity wasted. I've been seeing more flat roofs being built and posi joists being used instead of wooden joists... wondered if these would help with your...

    Extension Roof & Guttering Options

How come the guttering seems to be a big obstacle? Neighbour issues? Think I would be favouring either lean to or pitched. A mate has recently had a flat roofed installed, but could only manage just under 2.3m tall, feels a bit low for my liking. Also had to have a lot of steel due to two...
