Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

I followed those two wires in the image and they go directly to the existing old thermostat on the wall. If I disconnect them from the Junction box, then its simply a wire to the old thermostat with no power from anywhere.

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

I cant just replace the old thermostat with the new relay because someone here pointed out that the relay takes 5 wires and the old thermostat will probably have 2 wires only. Otherwise, I could have just taken the old thermostat off the wall and used the same wiring to connect the relay there...

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

In my image, I have identified the two wires going from the junction box to the existing old thermo. I just need clarification on this point: Are those wires any use to me, since they connect from the box to the thermo. If I hook them into the relay, the relay would be connected to the thermo...

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

But those wires currently run from the old thermostat to the junction box. How can they have any power if I connect them to the new relay at the junction box. The relay would simply be connected to the old thermostat without any power. JH

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

Ok, lets say I locate the necessary wires like live and neutral. What about the two I pointed out in my image. They connect from the junction box to the old thermostat and would be useless to attach to the relay. So how and where should I wire it up? JH

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

So to install the relay, what would need to be done? JH

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

I have a switch on the wall that can switch the boiler off. Is it possible that this can have the 5 core cable feeding into that? It's fed from one of the cables from the junction box. JH

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

There are many wires coming into the junction box. Is it possible that 5 of those wires can be used to plug into the relay? JH

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

This is a different post for actually installing it, and I'd like advice from a DIY forum, thanks.

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

The two wires I have shown in the image go from the Junction box to the existing old thermostat. So if I was to use these two same wires and plug it into the relay, it would just connect to the old thermostat, instead of to the boiler. So how do I get around this first issue? JH

Connecting a Wireless Relay to Boiler

I wish to install a new wireless thermostat. I can place the thermostat wherever I want but the wireless relay needs to be connected to the boiler. Currently, I have a wired thermostat which is connected directly to the boiler. All the wires arrive into a junction box just below the boiler...

    EHE0200361 Thermostat Relay

ok, so once I instal the relay at the junction box, the old thermostat and its wiring will be pointless. Should I just remove both at that point? JH

    EHE0200361 Thermostat Relay

Yes, I guess I have a wired system at the moment. I want to make it wireless. But is there any issue with using the existing wiring at the thermostat to connect to the wireless relay, rather than at the Junction Box? It would make life much easier. JH

    EHE0200361 Thermostat Relay

I have a vailant boiler. I have two thermostats which are connected directly to the boiler without a wireless receiver. The wireless receiver doesn't exist because the builders didn't install it. That's why the thermostats are connected directly to the junction box (located underneath the...

    EHE0200361 Thermostat Relay

I'm referring to the wireless receiver which wirelessly connects to the wireless thermostat. If I connect that at the junction box, then what do I do with the existing old thermostat and its wires (from the junction box)? JH

    EHE0200361 Thermostat Relay

Does that mean I tear out the thermostat from the wall and also tear out the wire that goes between the junction box and the thermostat? JH

    EHE0200361 Thermostat Relay

Right, but where do I wire them? Do I wire them where my existing thermostats are or do I wire them to the junction box in the image? JH

    EHE0200361 Thermostat Relay

Yes, I found the box you mentioned. See the image. So my thermostat on the wall connects to this. Now I have a new thermostat with a relay. The thermostat itself is wireless but I need to connect the relay to the wires. Do I simply take off the old thermostat from the wall and use the same...

    EHE0200361 Thermostat Relay

I have 2 x EHE0200361 thermostats. One for the central heating and one for the underfloor heating. See image. My builders installed them years ago before I physically moved into the house. From my research, I understand that this thermostat comes with a relay for wireless control. Yet, I have...
