    Can't pressurise Vaillant ecotec pro28?

Yeah I can see that one orientation is open by looking at the plastic bit. But still, when I open both valves up, nothing happens! Although earlier at one point it did slightly and then stopped Could the check valve have anything to do with it?

    Can't pressurise Vaillant ecotec pro28?

Thanks, so the plastic bit came off and when turning it with a spanner it just keeps turning infinitely, is that normal? I have tried all combinations of both valves on this loop and mostly nothing happens, although at one point it made a noise as if something was going through, but then it...

First time fitting LVT planks, help? :)

Hi I fell out with the guy who was meant to fit my karndean floor in my kitchen. He said my floor couldn't be made flatter, and it had 8cm undulations. I levelled it with fibre self levelling compound from mapei, and now it's much better. I have karndean opus planks. They reccomend using...

    Can't pressurise Vaillant ecotec pro28?

My boiler is showing only 0.5 bar when not in use. I followed a video from Vaillant to re pressurise it using the loop, but nothing happened. The little plastic bit had broken off, so I did it with a spanner. In this video the loop seems to go from different pipes than on mine... Any ideas?

    Bathroom downlights without earth, replacements?

I have these GU10 downlights in my bathroom, but they have no earth, also there appears to be nothing sealing them around the bezel or above to stop moisture going up. They seem very old, I'm guessing not even rated for a bathroom. Can I still get replacements that don't need an earth? And...

Garden wall tied into house wall, removal?

They mechanically fix into the brick work and also use adhesive to fix it everywhere. So they said a few patches of blown render won't matter, it will all be pinned to the wall essentially. They said if render is just falling off they will obviously take it off. But theres no point chipping away...

    Replacing downlights, part or whole?

Thanks. Many of them are rusty, so I'm guessing I can't do anything about that but get news ones. I'll probably go with fixed ones then I dont know where the earth wire is, this was done a long time ago

Replacing TRVs, should I replace rads?

Well I just read that radiators have become more efficient in the last 20 years, but I wasn't sure how. I can't imagine how exactly they would be more efficient!

Replacing TRVs, should I replace rads?

OK thanks, I thought the cheap ones might be crap. They look like a different design to my very old ones, maybe this is standard now? The sort of box design. I dont think it looks as nice though My plumber recommended just getting the cheapest ones from Screwfix. He said £100 for him to install...

Replacing TRVs, should I replace rads?

I'm planning to replace all my old and broken TRVs, 5 in total. I then wondered if I should be replacing my radiators? See the photo, these must be 20 years old I imagine, are there more efficient ones these days? If so, any reccomendations? Advice would be great thanks

    Replacing downlights, part or whole?

Hi I have 12 downlights in my kitchen and 3 in my bathroom, as pictured. Is it standard just to replace the whole thing, or can you just replace the rusty/dirty/painted bevel? Also, any reason you'd choose fixed ones over tilting ones? The kitchen ones have a 72mm cutout which seems...

Painting woodwork, water based over oil?

Thanks, so if I'm using water based over gloss, and doing what you said do I need to prime it after sanding and cleaning?

Painting woodwork, water based over oil?

Thanks, and what about painting water based over gloss? Do you need a primer even if you sand it back?

Painting woodwork, water based over oil?

Hi I want to paint all the woodwork in my 3 bedroom victorian terraced house. I have no idea if the current woodwork is oil or water based, is there an easy way to find out? I've used oil in the past at other places as it was all I knew. But it discolours so much, I was hoping to switch to...
